Asking for charity donations back? What the hell is wrong with you?
And we also have to understand that this Charity is bigger than all of us, if the long term goals of the charity are harmed by the publicity from this, then don't we accidently destroy the thing we tried to do good with?
I understand the decision from the Charity, I also respect it. You still have the ability to donate money, just not with the
'cause' tied to the fund raiser. And that's not a bad thing.
Child's play is going to be around a hell of a lot longer than this ending controversy is going to be. And everyone who turned their rage into something positive should understand at the end of the day, this was always about making sure something good happens for some one no matter what happens to us.
*I'm going to start a damn fundraising drive for this copy paste autoformatting *&#*&#*$*

This is a thread where we take the negative things associated with the ending and convert them into positive. We did it once with the charity drive. We will do it again with.... the next great idea someone comes up with for the "next step" of our movement.
Then again with the next step... soon, the things we have done as part of the ReTake movement will be the lines in Captain Kirrahe's famous speech.
Our influence donated lots of toys to children in hospitals! But before that... we HELD THE LINE!
Our influence... and so on!!
Be civil, be positive and be PROUD of all the money we raised for those kids.
Hold the line!

Osteogenesis imperfecta(ETA: Brittle Bone Disease)? It's an orphan disease, probably doesn't get much in the way of mainstream support.
Oooh, I like that. Quite appropriate. Is there actually anything we could donate to, however?Just did a quick Google and the top two results on the page were The Brittle Bone Society and Strongbones Children's Charitable Trust. I don't know anything about them other than that search, nor do I know how to research a charity, but those two look like possibilities.
There's probably something. And I like the way it fits. We all know Joker really wouldn't run/back down, and that's been one of the core bits of Retake.
I had that growing up and have it now. OI FTW

Guys and gals. This disease is real and lethal. I suggest we donate individually in honor (not in rememberce, which is, I feel inappropriatly over-dramatic) of an awsome ME character.
Screw it. I just donated $100 because I believe in this charity.
As a movement a unified charity would be more productive, but there are few as worthy.

Here's where it gets hard folks, now with the charity thing shut down (for now) we are going to be expected to turn into an angry mob. We have to continue to choose the Paragon option, being civil reasonable people will get us results.
This
Stay tuned everyone... ideas are being worked on and an "official" direction will be presented to BSN as soon as we either A) agree on a charity that won't say "no thanks" orcome up with a better, equally awesome idea.
Hold the line!
maybe we should help a charity that helps the homeless or something? Like "help the homeless, feel better about earth being destroyed" lol. Not connected to gaming in any way.

Yep, its getting bad. Reminds me of yesterday with the troll pro-ender trend. Not good at all.

I actually donated earlier! It's a great cause, and at the risk of sounding obvious, we don't necessarily have to do it under the Retake banner.
And yes, the Gabe thread needs to be closed. Things are getting heated on the forums, and it seems everyone's taking their frustrations out at once. I think I'll retreat back here, where it's civil and welcoming.

I like that too! I think I'll have to research into those you listed there. I have to wonder how much they receive in the way of donations. I doubt it's all that well-known. Wouldn't it be great if the group could make a difference?

I know, I tried to be as civilized as I could yesterday, even tried to pull people the heck out of the trend. Finally got a mod in to shut it down.
You can only do so much to try and get other people to understand. If it gets that bad, I'll have to just report people again. I hate doing it, but it has to stop. It only hurts us.

Everyone see this already?
Apparently theyve worked something out for Nathan Fillion's charity, Kids Need to Read.

If you do start another charity drive, please make sure to let them know that donating does not guarantee a new ending.

That's a really good idea! But I think everybody needs to cool down first and we need to weigh the pros and cons to make sure it's a good move to jump into another fundraiser right away.

I am just saying maybe it is not the best move for the campaign to try another charity because not everybody is going to understand the reason behind it. Donating to charity is good but apparently not everybody attached to the campaign has the reading comprehension to understand the goals of the drive.
Just my opinion take it or leave it. So you know I am proud to be part of this campaign because of what you have done so far.
