Well, as Stan pointed out, we can still continue to give to Child's Play, even if we need to turn to something else to officially channel the energy of our movement into something positive outside of the game itself.

Don't kow if this was already posted, but I think it's kind of cool (got it from the big huge long ending thread). Flow chart with factors effecting possible endings... sort of an "this is the sort of thing we expected as an ending" diagram.

Txmn: I have, I do kind of see where he comes from which is why I'm no longer mad about it, just sad.
Though I find it odd how they are fine with the Humble Bundle, combating a negative stereotype, guaranteeing you get something back for "donating" and paying so devs can get new stuff.
As I said though, I'm still mad about what one side seems to be allowed to do.

When did this become a what Character are you thread?

Hmm thats pretty interesting.
Similar to how i thought things would pan out. I originaly thought the crucible was too good to be true and the real game changer would be uniting the fleets.

I'm just sad about it too.

And it was just a funny little quiz I wanted to share.

For me, i think that if shepard went all games on full renegade, he should control the reapers and then became the new enemy to the galaxy...

Well, we got their point. We can agree or disagree with charity fund - but it doesn't matter.
What matters is this:  we did a great job by helping kids ($80K is not few coins from the pocket) and draw the attention of mass media to #RetakeMassEffect movement.
That's exactly what we wanted and that's exactly what we got.

Now we move on to the next charity, we've already got many worthy proposals.

I'm on board for anything that's proposed as long as it helps people who genuinely need it. until then I'm cooling my heels. Lets shore up that line and hold, dammit!

Also, have I mentioned that everyone on this thread rocks? I love you guys, seriously, some great human beings here.

I think we're going to hold off on any new charity stuff. At the very least, until the CP stuff cools down. Keep holding the line in other ways, though. And hang onto your future charity ideas because this is definitely something we want to turn into an annual thing. We've put together a really amazing group of people, and I'm really looking forward to collaborating with all of you in the future.

Some fun stuff because I think we could all use a bit of a laugh after the tense forum day...

Literal ME3 trailer: (hilarious)
www.youtube.com/watch

ME3 ending parody: (love confused little 2D Shep)
www.youtube.com/watch

Animal house style ME3 ending: (yep, better than what we got)
www.youtube.com/watch

Hold the line! :D

Demanding your money back from a charity?

Grand. Congratulations on destroying the movement. This could've been a mature expression of user dissatisfaction and positive social disobedience, instead insipid morons have turned us into a target. That is IT for RETME3 in the court of Public Opinion. You've destroyed it. There is nothing more based and vile then snatching money out of the hands of charity. You've proven fat balls of bile like Jim Sterling right about us.

Hope your proud.

I keep seeing posts that ridicule Retake because they are demanding their money back. I've thus far only seen two people say they were going to do so. Two.

Am I missing lots of posts or are people generalizing again?

PA released a statement (posted above somewhere) in which they stated, "We’ve also been contacted by PayPal due to a high number of people asking for their donations back."  So there you go.

Oh :(

Well, I'm not going to be disgusted by these people, it doesn't help anyone. Hopefully, they'll change their minds or donate it to another charity.

I just wanted to post this here :

http://www.fullparagon.com/?page_id=18

"Full Paragon (http://www.fullparagon.com), a new Mass Effect fan-initiated fundraising campaign, soared off this morning with a brand new site and a cheeky name that gives a nod to the "paragon/renegade" actions and choices players face in the game series. One of the organizers took the time to discuss her hope to unite Commander Shepards everywhere with a new fundraising campaign.

"We're definitely inspired by the generous fans who raised money recently, but we're not planning to recreate ReTake," responded Anabel Martinez, one of Full Paragon's organizers who is also a passionate Mass Effect series fan. She's referring to the ReTake Mass Effect 3 campaign that was brought to a halt after raising over $80,000 over the past 9 days for the popular video game charity Child's Play. "Some fans are looking for a place to follow in the footsteps of the ReTake campaign."

Is this another effort for, as critics proclaim, fans to "whine" about ME3's ending?

Anabel disagrees. "The Mass Effect community has always been giving, from gaming marathons to Facebook fundraisers." She, like many other fans from online communities like Reddit and Bioware's own Social site, are eager to find another way for fans to contribute to a good cause.

The Full Paragon campaign reached out to Kids Need to Read, a charitable foundation started by author PJ Haarsma, actor Nathan Fillion, and Executive Director Denise Gary, which focuses on supporting children's literacy.

According to their website, "Kids Need to Read works to create a culture of reading for children by providing inspiring books to underfunded schools, libraries, and literacy programs across the United States, especially those serving disadvantaged children."

"Mass Effect is a story-driven series with an incredibly rich universe. The trilogy has attracted a passionate following of imaginative, giving people who want to open up exciting new worlds to children through books and stories in the same way Mass Effect did for the players. We're elated to be supporting Kids Need to Read, for their efforts in raising children's literacy all across America." "

They generalizing though still. They apply it to people on the site, the ones that post and never misunderstood where the money went.
I'm surpised anyone did, unless they didn't read it and just assumed, in which case they have no one but themselves to blame and that can't be applied to anyone else, let alone everyone else.

Did the Quiz....think the creater really likes Tali, what I answered I wouldn't apply to tali and more how I see Kaidan. Though he was 2nd at 44% with tali having 45%. Mega creepy comment someone left on it too >.>;.

I came late to this group, but donated to Child's Play anyway. Even if it's not garnering attention for Retake, it's a worthy cause. But yeah, we still need to hold the line. From the letter to the fans that Bioware's co-founder wrote, I don't think they've heard what we're saying. We don't need "clarification." We got it. We really did. It still stunk as an ending. We need a *new* ending. Or at least a go-ahead with the indoctrination theory.

Yes, they are blowing it out of proportion. Its being generalized like we're all a bunch of ****s, which we're not, obviously. With the stop of the charity the movement does feel dead though and people are upset. If someone gets a new charity going I'll donate. But I think its too early to do jump to a new charity and it will cause negative effect on the movement in others' eyes.

Hold the lines fellas!

And you expect people to look upon you differently because you think they won't stereotype you?

This has ruined this movement and possibly any future ones.
Good job idiots!

Be ashamed.

Glad to see the positive energy is still out there.  Good on ya.  I'm very appreciative that you (and others) took the time to and language to distance yourselves from the current Retake charity.  I think that's a very good thing.  Keep up the good work, guys.
