Attacking people who donate to charity and making up lies about them.  Stay classy biodrons and/or undercover bioware employees.

When I first heard that they had asked us to shut down the charity drive, I was pretty mad and discouraged. I get the reasoning behind it though. I find that Jerry is usually pretty good about making his point clear in these situations, and after I read his post, I see where they are coming from.

The media has spun us into this monster, and 99.98 percent of us aren't the monsters that they make us out to be. But that .02 that are doing things like death threats, harassment, and ASKING FOR REFUNDS FROM CHARITY certainly aren't helping our image.

I'm still proud to be a member of this movement, because every group has those individuals that make us hang our heads, and we just have to move on, stand tall, hold our heads high, AND HOLD THE LINE.

Don't even bother.  They have no interest in actual honest debate about the issue, they ignore any evidence contrary to what they believe and just repeat their lies over and over.  If you repeat a lie long enough eventually it becomes accepted as truth.  Its republican strategy 101.

I choose republicans because its the most modern day example of this tactic that I can think of and people could relate to what I'm saying.  THey are hardly the first ones to do this.  This tactic repeats itself throughout all of human history.  It's effective and it works.

This article did one thing and that was cast a bad light on the whole retake movement they gave nothing in the name of proof but managed to incite people against the retakers. To blindly accept the word of anyone for the simple reason is that because the own the charity or what ever is stupid. While this might be true that people have taken back donations to blindly accept the word of ANY journalist reporting an article without giving some basic from of proof of any kind says alot about those who are "angry" at the WHOLE retake movement.

I know!  I just read it, and I honestly can't believe what I'm reading.  Aren't gamers supposed to have each other's backs?  Why do they feel the need to turn this HUGE $80,000 good deed into something bad?  What do they gain from smearing us?  I understand they have an opinion, but they are other ways to express it without sounding like meanies!

So I wake up and I find people feeding trolls, I'm getting dissapointed ladies and gentlemen. I kid...mostly. So Morning all, I'm back to holding the line with all of you as best I'm able, have an utter insane amount of work to do today so I am gonna be busy but I wanted to stop in and see what was up, look forward to the live chat on forbes.

Please don't feed the trolls, don't respond to those coming in and insulting us or painting us with the same brush, don't attack people claiming we've killed the movement. We have done no such thing and you don't need to attack them to validate the good YOU did. I also think you'll find very few people requested refunds, while many claimed they wanted it, after a nights rest I bet most simply let it go and returned to feeling good.

I appreciate all the talk of a new charity drive and all the excellent ideas BUT after some discussion between a few of us, we feel a new Charity Drive would have...less impact than the first one, plus many people are still upset about CP and might worry any donations would get axed before doing anything with another. So that being said we are looking for something new, something...not yet done to get our voice out there. Cmon BSN users, we've got good heads on our shoulders time to use them!

I agree that a new charity drive might have less impact, it's also a dangerous road for now. Right now, we need to shake off the negativity of the recent events. How about an artistic contest like on deviantArt?

I am confused, what does this thread have to do with Mass Effects Story and Campaign. If anything this thread should be shut down because there is absolutely no discussion about Mass Effect. Do you guys remember the 'Communications Tech' that connected you to former squadmates to say goodbye? Did you notice that it is the EXACT voice AND face of your former Requisitions Officer? It was probably an easter egg, but I couldn't help feeling like my Shep was a huge a**hole for not recognizing a former crewmate.

It's endings related.  And I'm pretty sure the OP got permission from mods to create it.
