So I have to ask, and please tell me I'm not crazy

Do you guys remember the 'Communications Tech' that connected you to former squadmates to say goodbye? Did you noticed that it is the EXACT voice AND face of your former Requisitions Officer? It was probably and easter egg, but I couldn't help feeling like my Shep was a huge a**hole for not recognizing a former crewmate.

Ok so im not insane, i wasnt the only one that did a doubletake on that ....

I asked him to close it along with another hate trend. People stop feeding the trolls!!!

Enough is enough already. This is sad.

Leo, I understand where you are coming from I honestly do but you are coming off as agressive and very rude, it's not helping people hear you're voice here. The reason myself and a few others have become unoffical voices here, the reason people listen to us is because we are polite. Try not saying things like "Enough is Enough." I know it's frustrating but yelling (You know, online yelling obv.) isn't helping either. Not bashing on you, just trying to help you get the point across because I know how it can be.

Also try to remember a lot of people are frayed, tired and upset right now so there not thinking clearly, instead of telling them to stop, try urging them to get some sleep, to rest. I know after 8 hours of sleep, I felt much better, much more clear headed and much more focused.

Holding The Line,
~R

I am confused, what does this thread have to do with Mass Effects Story and Campaign. If anything this thread should be shut down because there is absolutely no discussion about Mass Effect. All I see are a bunch of people tooting their own horns because they donated to charity to get a video game ending changed.

It's endings related.  And I'm pretty sure the OP got permission from mods to create it.

This is very much about the endings, this is about getting them changed and doing some good in the process, many people here still voice there anger at the endings of the games. And I think Bioware lets us stay because we are civil and respectful of them for the majoritys part. Thus they will not close it down.

Plus locking this thread without solid reason, not just because every page isn't about the endings directly, would cause another ****storm, one I don't think they need right now hah!

Everyone, I would like to remind you all while you are having your discussions to be careful of quote tags. As far as negative/volatile posts go, I avoid using quote tags because I feel quote tags are a large issue with why negative things get propagated through threads. Even when voicing a denouncing opinion about something negative, the quote tag just spreads the message one post further.

Civility, and Line Holding, etc.

I agree.  For the past week this place has been a safe haven to talk about the endings.

Totally missed that one. I'll look out for it when I can play again (ie with a proper ending).

Talk about the endings, or try and use a just cause to your advantage so you can get the endings changed. It reads pretty clear in the first post, "Ray posted they are working on the endings, we are winning, blah, blah". I understand some people who donated may be true to the cause of donating, but the donating started, because of...

Not getting what you wanted from a video game company.

Ahhh ... YouTube ... the place I can go to see things I would normally do a replay to see, except ... I just can't make myself play ME3 again when I know the ending is so epically, tragically bad Image IPB

Also ... 80k.

For me, in real life, it's about the journey ... and I will continue to think of this charity drive as a positive experience.  In fiction, however ... dammit, BW, this game was almost perfect Image IPB

I think BioWare's moderators have been somewhat "lenient" on this thread. They are probably well within their rights (that we all agreed to by posting on their forums) to close this thread, several times over.

I think - this is my opinion - that they *did* like the charity drive and they did like some of us BSNers having a place we could post in that was more positive and less negative.

And if that is the case, I appreciate that. This entire charity drive thing has been a very positive thing in my life recently. Donating to the charity in order to help our voice be heard - and not be labeled as "whiny gamers" was a brilliant move and regardless of the outcome, I am proud to have donated more than 2% of the total donations sent to Child's Play.

I understand they did not want to get caught up in politics.
I also understand if a few people want to get their donations refunded when Child's Play made that decision. (I do not, but I can see why someone would.)

All that said... since getting this game on March 6 - loving it - then being so let down at the end - then finding this movement - all the way up till this morning... has been one helluva emotional roller coaster. :)

I still have no idea what BioWare plans to do about the endings, but I still feel the last 10 minutes ruins the entire universe/franchise. The other 99.99% of the trilogy was some of my favorite gaming of all time.

So, with that in mind, I will continue to politely remind BioWare that - as a customer who spends a lot of money on their products, I am unsatisfied and allow them to chose if they want to retain me as a customer - or not.

But until that choice is made by BioWare, I will continue to-

Hold the line!

Not getting what we wanted/were promised in the endings..which we talk about frequently.  And like I said before, the OP got permission.

So new discussion train guys, I want IDEAS for a new way for us to channel our emotions, for the moment a charity is out for a massive amount of reasons, both that I came up with and that have been levvied on me in PMs and IM's by many members of this cell. So I want ideas!

1. I saw someone come up with the idea to do a Deviant Art contest, this seems like a pretty cool idea if it could be implemented properly, any ideas? Any ideas on a theme that would help bring attention to our cause? We've done good for kids and us now, but we do need to help the movement too!

2. ?

We need more than one idea! Haha come on guys, show me what you got!

I'm pretty sure the majority opinion on the thread is that we started donating so that we felt something good came out of the dissappointment of the endings. While it may have garnered a lot of attention, that was never the initial intent. We just wanted to feel better. :)

This is a reminder to notify a Moderator directly if you see trouble on the forums.

This is also a reminder that we have a very specific definition of "troll" in our forums, and it doesn't mean someone who "disagrees with me" or "argues with me" or "says something I don't like." The term is reserved for those who intentionally make outlandish hyperbolic posts, usually on a controversial or sensitive topic, for the sole purpose of provoking an extreme reaction.

Indeed. Calling someone a troll is often, in itself, trolling. Let's keep things civil.
