I've been out of work for about four months, so I don't have the money. I shelled out Christmas money to pre-order the Collector's edition, and despite counting pennies, considered it money well spent. I was in Nirvana... up until the last 15 minutes.

If I had the money to spare, I'd donate to the charity. I don't, so all I can do is offer my sincere praise to all of you for an amazing charity, and to add my voice to countless others. Add another option to the endgame.

throwning another 10 in just for you

Humbly grateful. Thank you! I hope this gets seen by the people at Bioware. Yes, the fans are outraged. But rather than take it out on everyone who worked on the project, they instead create a charity drive to demonstrate how committed they are to the game universe they've been part of... I just hope Bioware is paying attention.

Thanks again!

Quite an idea, count me in.

Donating what I can atm - Even if bio doesn't change anything...I'm feeling quite a bit better just seeing people come together to contribute to a worthy cause.  Thank you for taking the time to organize this : ]

Between this and Tim Schafer's Kickstarter, I've never been more happy to give away my money on the internet. :)

I prefer to think of it as using this opporunity to channel the rage about the endings into something positive and deeply meaningful.  It's what Shepard would have wanted.

I expect this to have zero effect on the Bioware/EA decision to do anything about the endings.

This! So much this!

I have been totally depressed about the endings since I finished the game, but this movement has me feeling happiness and hope for all of us!

Hold the line!

I think this is a great idea. Taking the need to do SOMETHING and channeling it into something good. I couldn't afford much at the moment but hopefully my $10 will help some kid somewhere.

Just remember everyone. The odds of BW seeing this and actually doing something about the endings over it. Is virtually none, almost everyone here is here to help the Kids and channel all those negative emotions, the pain and hurt at the ending of ME3 into something constructive and good. Yes we do it under the retakeME3 banner, but if the movement died tommorow, I personally would keep pushing this. We are united as gamers for the first time across the world in something truely good, keep it up.

Hold The Line.

I donated last night, when we had raised ~$200. I was not expecting to come back and see this thread grow so huge, or for us to have raised so much money. I am so proud of this community and the organizers of this movement. This is one of the most mature, but more importantly one of the most beautiful, things I have ever seen an online community of video game players do.

Donated another five dollars.

Oh, incidentally, I just noticed that the page has an RSS feed, which tracks individual donation amounts.

And yes the $1000 was donated by one person.

That's incredible. I'm thinking either a really well off fan (seems unlikely, but who knows), or a mysterious VA or dev.  Either way, it's just incredibly generous.

I am voting VA/Dev personally, I can't imagine many ME fans have a full grand kicking around with nothing to spend it on. I heard Jennifer Hale and another were pretty impressed by the drive, so I am thinking one of them. Also PC at work is awesome haha.

I dont think it was them.  The 1k giver was around the 3k mark I think. Before this charity REALLY picked up. Might be a different one though. Who knows who lurks these forums. Either way. Good on them =)

Keep up the great work everyone. I encourage you all not to take the detractors to heart. They are making false assumptions, why I will not speculate at this point in time other that to say it's the simplest road to follow. The bottom line is YOU know why you have donated. And at this point a couple of hundreds kids lives will have been brightened. That's all we need.

Hold the line.

Besides the kudos for that one giant donation I would like to thank all those people who donated even if they themselves are not in an overly comfortable financial situation. I am under the impression that some of the members of the community actually sacrificed something to be able to donate.

You all have my deepest respect!

Agreed! I feel so much better, it is amazing!
I know it has been mentioned many times before - and maybe it is dumb to think about it this way. But. I feel like we are all following Shepard's (and other NPCs in the ME game franchise) example.

This is good for the kids regardless - and MUCH more positive than posting about how depressing the ending is! I don't care if you donate 1 cent, or whatever, the fact that we are coming together as a community (galaxy) for this cause is epic!

Hold the line!

If there were some good things that came out of those endings, it's our unity and this! Keep up the good work everyone, make Shepard proud!

Today is a historic day.

We have done something truly great with this. The usual response to a situation like this would be to flame and whine until finally everyone moved on. Many at BSN have done this but some of us led by UniqueName001 and Rosery99 decided to do channel our disappointment, sadness, and anger into a movement that can never truly lose. So what if we don't get new endings? Mass Effect 3 is still a damn fun game to play through imo and even better were helping kids who are in dire straits enjoy themselves. That will be the legacy of Retake Mass Effect.

I have never been so proud to be a member of the BioWare Social Network. Thank you to UniqueName001, Rosery99, and everyone else who has contributed.

Some of the crew actually have already seen and responded to it from what I've been hearing. You are correct though, it's a great thing even if it doesn't come to anything about the endings.

This is about turning a negative into a BIG positive.

I only speak personally, but I felt way better after I donated. Are we still disappointed? You bet and Bioware will hear us but this is a productive way to channel those feelings.

Regardless, if they alter the endings or not, in 10 years, I probably won't remember just how epically p*ssed off I was about the ending to ME3. I do think I'll remember this feeling. That I was part of something beautiful and incredibly moving. This has inspired a little more faith in humanity.
