Besides the cudos for that one giant donation I would like to thank all those people who donated even if they themselves are not in an overly comfortable financial situation. I am under the impression that some of the members of the community actually sacrificed something to be able to donate.

You all have my deepest repect!

This too! So many of you are impressing me today. I can't stop refreshing the page. :)

Hold the line!

Today is a historic day.

We have done something truly great with this. The usual response to a situation like this would be to flame and whine until finally everyone moved on. Many at BSN have done this but some of us led by UniqueName001 and Rosery99 decided to do channel our disappointment, sadness, and anger into a movement that can never truly lose. So what if we don't get new endings? Mass Effect 3 is still a damn fun game to play through imo and even better were helping kids who are in dire straits enjoy themselves. That will be the legacy of Retake Mass Effect.

I have never been so proud to be a member of the BioWare Social Network. Thank you to UniqueName001, Rosery99, and everyone else who has contributed.

Speaking of contributors.  I haven't see DrowVampyre today (made the Kirrahe poster). If s/he hasn't seen this yet then wow--are they in for a surprise.

Her/his poster is getting some attention on sites covering the movement.  Wonder if s/he knows?

Regardless, if they alter the endings or not, in 10 years, I probably won't remember just how epically p*ssed off I was about the ending to ME3. I do think I'll remember this feeling. That I was part of something beautiful and incredibly moving. This has inspired a little more faith in humanity.

Well said my friend! Posted Image

Just remember everyone. The odds of BW seeing this and actually doing something about the endings over it. Is virtually none, almost everyone here is here to help the Kids and channel all those negative emotions, the pain and hurt at the ending of ME3 into something constructive and good. Yes we do it under the retakeME3 banner, but if the movement died tommorow, I personally would keep pushing this. We are united as gamers for the first time across the world in something truely good, keep it up.

Hold The Line.

Agreed! I feel so much better, it is amazing!
I know it has been mentioned many times before - and maybe it is dumb to think about it this way. But. I feel like we are all following Shepard's (and other NPCs in the ME game franchise) example.

This is good for the kids regardless - and MUCH more positive than posting about how depressing the ending is! I don't care if you donate 1 cent, or whatever, the fact that we are coming together as a community (galaxy) for this cause is epic!

Hold the line!

It's not dumb because it's where I got my original idea, I was sitting here reading posts about how Shepard wouldn't lay down and die...and I thought to myself, "What would Leeta Shepard, MY Shepard do about this?" And this came to me, stop thinking about her damnself and do something good for somebody else, well I suggested charity and Uniquename001 brought up Childs Play, so feeling like Shepard? I don't think it's dumb, I think it's approriate, we were brought to these forums by Shepard and in my mind, were all embodying Shepard and his/her companions here. What was it that was said in game one..."Shepard is the best humanity has to offer." Well...this seems like a damn good start!

Amazing that we're almost at $9,000 already. Thanks to everyone contributing and helping to spread the word. I've said that before but it's something that needs to be repeated.
It really is very touching to see people come together and ensure that something positive comes from all this. And thanks to the people organizing all this to begin with, just amazing work.

Oh and thank you most of all to the people throwing in pennies and other odd amounts, it's very entertaining when OneRabidAnt reacts to it. :P

Edit: And as I posted this, it's OVER 9000!!!

Donated this morning and explained to my wife what was going on with Child's Play. She just went and threw in a donation under her name also now. :)

I must say, this whole thing, even if nothing comes of it from BioWare, is still a win in my book. Awesome Job everyone, makes me proud to be a part of this.
