instead of donating to charity, wouldn't it have been a better idea to pay a mod team to make your ending? lol oh wait.. most of you are xbox console people nevermind.. continue supporting Child's Play while Bioware works on Dragon Age 3!

Plus Sick children getting help beats getting a new Mass Effect 3 ending anyday.

I used to be over 9000, but then I took a lie to the cake.

pretty good.  Now reference ME3's endings.

This isn't even for changing the ending anymore, okay maybe a little bit, but it's now about taking all of our rage and disappointment and making something good out of it.

ahh, I see. well then continue to give your money away. Might want to try breast cancer as well :) I will say I am dissapointed that 22k people petitioned the ending and only 480 people donated money

Just donated. It came from the refund I got from Amazon for returning the 360 version I had intended to play after playing the PC version.

I couldn't think of a better way to help our cause by helping someone else too. What people are saying about taking shepards lead has really made me smile, donated $50.

I used to be over 9000, then BioWare turned my cake into space magic.

What other charities does this kind loving lot donate too? Maybe we can point out some worthy causes for people to help while we're making Child's Play's first quarter so bright.

I personally do what I can donation wise for the Wounded Warrior Project  but as a Marine Corps veteran that's just me taking care of my buddies. I also do volunteer work for animal shelters.

I was correcting something on the article when I say this in the comments, from a girl named Erika:

I must admit that, as a member of the Retake campaign, it has been an emotional ride. We have been attacked by people for our opinion and drive. Most of us have tried to remain respectful. But seeing an article like this makes it all a bit easier.
I am financially in distress at the moment. I’ve got to ship out for Basic training for the Air Force in three months and I have until then to get my affairs in order as far as bills. But when I saw the other campaigners organizing the charity drive, I immediately jumped on board and donated my eating money for the day (only 10 dollars, but food speaks quite a bit).
No, we’re not doing this for the publicity or using the children. I didn’t know about Child’s Play until this whole thing came about… And honestly, even if this BioWare/EA thing wasn’t going on, I would still donate to it. I would give more if I could. It is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
I do not doubt that EA and BioWare are working hard to get this organized. And I do respect them very much. Mass Effect as a series is very important to me, and they are the ones who made it.
We will keep holding the line, and we will make ourselves heard. If we don’t get a new ending in the end, who cares. We made our effort and we did something good in the process. A wise man once said: “It is better to have tried and failed, than never to have tried at all.”

She LITERALLY took the food out of her mouth to give. Meritorious conduct right there. If you're reading this, I have advice for you, posted on the website. Otherwise, contact me here. Everyone else, look at that. When people say that we're scum for 'piggybacking' or 'using' a charity, point them there.

I'm all blushy now, I didn't expect people to respond to that comment. ^.^;;

Hey, you're the one who led by example. Get used to it. Step up. Go read the advice, it'll save you a lot of heartache, even if it is a little cryptic.

Especially the bit about foot powder.

My hubby is an Army veteran, the wounded warrior project is an awesome charity.  Always glad to see our veterans taken care of.  Thank you for your service!

This might be one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. It's extremely inspiring to see so many people take disappointment over something and rechannel it into something so worthwhile. With all the negativity that has been on these forums, all the rage over the endings to what I felt was an otherwise fantastic game, this group of fans put it on the backburner and did something fantastic. I remain steadfast in saying that I would love to see an expansion or post-game DLC to provide more closure to the series, providing that some sort of TRON gnome isn't hiding in each disc, keeping a secret ending from everyone until the right moment. What's a TRON gnome? I don't know. That's not important. What is important is that no matter what happens in regards to that, this is the best possible ending that could ever come out of Mass Effect 3. Game sites may make sweeping generalizations about you and call you whiny fanboys and fangirls but you're aces in my book and when I get home I will donate and be more than proud to count myself among this group of whiners.
