Wow, there are journalist like Ben Kuchera from penny arcade which criticize this donation and let implementation thats its for personal gain...
Check him out at @BenKuchera at twitter, he is really that pathetic, i wonder how these " men" have the right to call our movement ,childish, whinny or whatever.

He just called us classy

"Okay, one last tweet about it. This is very classy. Way to go, guys. http://retakemasseff...ect-childs-play"

I don't know what to think.

May be he just realise that at the end, it's the children that will win so it can't be a bad thing.

If 20,000+ people donated 5 dollars each, we would hit $100,000.

Right now we have 874 contributors. If you feel guilty that you can't really donate anything more than a dollar, DON'T!

Every bit counts! Bust that Paragon meter!

He thinks we're simply upset because the series didn't end the way we liked. I disagree with him, and I suspect that he doesn't have the same level of emotional investment into the games that we do.

Well, we win, guys.

Happy ending.

No matter what Bioware does.

This.  Even if we don't get our happy ending, even if Bioware says "Nope, not getting it", we all can know that our little "outrage" raised $25,000 for charity.

They can call us elitist, entitled gamers all they want.  These elitist, entitled gamers just probably did something no one thought a small group of disgruntled fans could do.

They can't take away what we did.

25'000 at the moment. I have no doubt it will contiune to rise over the next few weeks, the donation is open to april 11'th after all!

My friends and you are all my friends now. Take solace no matter what happens, as has been said, we have indeed Won. We have won the true battle, not the battle nessacarily for ME3's new ending but instead we have won the battle to bring humanity and decency back to the gaming community as a whole. We have proved not only to Bioware but to the world at large that we as gamers are not entitled ****s, we are not selfish or self righteous but we are giving and caring of the world around us. In ten years I doubt anyone will remember much about a bad ME3 ending but this? In ten years people will remember that gamers around the world stood united and gave tens of thousands of dollars to a worth while charity. And if I have anything to say about it, we will do it again later this year and each year afterwards!

I want to thank you guys. I've been bitter and angry the last few days, had trouble sleeping and generally upset. But this is something that has really turned this around. Regardless of what ends up happening with Mass Effect, this community has made a difference. I'll no longer remember this as simply a failed ending, but rather the power a united community can provide. I'm no longer as upset.

So true.

I mean, there's that fanfiction ending floating around all over the internet and these forums, but honestly? I don't think even it compares to this happy ending. I think the ChipIn page needs to be the new link that is rolled out when complaints about the ending come up.

Happy real-life kids are better than happy blue/masked digital kids any way you swing it. We would like both, but the least we gamers can do is the first one. And heck, even if I find the phrase a little cheesy...

Hold the line! *salutes*

I think he was sarcastic ,but, lets hope im wrong.

Anyway...

Irony is that Child's Play was started by Penny Arcade. Granted it has grown past penny arcade, and has turned into it's own thing, but you would think that they would be happy were helping children.

This charity drive is the triumphant, uplifting ending to the Mass Effect franchise that I was looking for. Thank you, everyone - I hope those kids have some awesome adventures.

You know what... I don't care what people say. Video games have been important to me my whole life. They are a great escape. I can pretend ot be whomever I want in wahtever universe I want. And now, because of this, thousands of kids can experience that and smile. Thank you, everyone.

I remember one xmas opening up my atari(I'm old lol).  Played for hours.  I'm the girl I know around me who plays games.  So games have been my escape for more years then I want to mention lol.

I am so happy I can give back and help some kids find the same joy I get from gaming.

I'll see your Atari and raise you Zork.  I still play video games because they remind me of what it was like to be a kid, running around with a buddy, and a stick that I pretended was a sword, really believing that I could slay dragons (the dragons, in my imagination, did not look like ducks, but the chalices glowed).

I'm actually glad BW botched the endings - I'd never heard of this charity.  I'm grateful to have been a part of that truly astounding number on the chipin page.

I read some of his tweets, and he seems like a smug a**hole.

Admittedly his relationship with the BSN has been..ah..a little strained.  But I'll take the nice words, and moreover, I'll thank him for it.

And this is the beauty in this movement. By channeling all these negative feelings into doing something good, a lot of that initial bitterness goes away. You as an individual win, the community that has come together to do this great thing wins, and the kids win. It's not about demanding better endings. It's about coming together, and doing something that matters.
