I can see where you are coming from, i think its more creating an awareness about the issue through positive means. due to the fact that as mentioned this donation is happening regardless of what happens with the endings.
I cant speak for anyone else but the money i donated was money i would of used for the DLC.

This, so much this! :)

I don't have any problems donating to children, but something about this feels like you're more or less exploiting children to get what you want.

Have you read this thread? It stopped being about different endings a long, long time ago. We're helping sick children and the overall tone is "OMG, you guys are so awesome, how can we help MORE?" It is heartwarming to see so much excitement and love for a good cause.

Seriously, read some posts. And then go donate for the kids. :)

Hold the line.

Well, heh, there are 85 pages here.

Wow, when I went to sleep we were at 10k. We just tripled our first days donation in the span of about 8 hours. This is really picking up steam. Good job everyone!

You can take a random sample of... let's say 8 pages. That should be representative enough. ;)

Just wondering...and it may be that my tinfoil hat has some leaks so that I'm not thinking straight...but could it be Bioware which has donated that 10k? I know they did something like that with that whole issue with that writer or something? (didn't really follow that..)

Anyway, just seeing this number rise and rise just makes me smile the whole day. I don't mind anymore if we get another ending or not, this is just awesome. :)

[EDIT]
Nearly 31k! :o Just 300 bucks to go!

I am off to work in a bit, but I wanted to make a quick comment before I left for the morning. :)

I think we should not forget that this is about the ending of the game (franchise). If it was not for the terribad ending (yes, singular), this would not have started. But BioWare should not be patted on the back for this, or try to take credit, it was you awesome people! We took something very negative - with ZERO support from BioWare and turned it into something wonderful.

How many children will have some happiness now, thanks to this effort?

After finishing the game, I was depressed - couldn't sleep, took the ME1 and 2 soundtracks out of my car CD player...
After participating in this effort - I am smiling again, not being able to sleep because I keep refreshing the donation RSS feed and have a renewed hope in humanity thanks to you wonderful people! I am hearing the awesome music from the soundtrack in my head again - but when I do - I don't think about the awful ending of the game, but of you people! From the people who donated food money, to people donating money that would have otherwise gone to DLC or SW:TOR accounts... It's just... so heartwarming!

One last thought before I go to work (late! hah!)

Hold the line!

Not exactly on a fixed income right now, so I put in what I could. Hope I helped enough for BW to take notice.

At this point I could care less about an ending. The only way I would play an ending is if BW released it for free. The amount of controversy surrounding this single game is ridiculous. I could get past the rest of it, but that ending really felt like a slap in the face.

All I can say is that Bioware WILL NOT get another dollar from me. I will make a mental note to donate to Childs Play everytime they release some new dlc instead. :)

This has been so enjoyable I've forgotten how mad the ending and the response (or lack thereof) has made me.

myself and at least 2 of my friends have donated to this.. I hate online petitions, but this is a nice way to handle it.

I have also spread this to other websites told more friends about it.

30k, I contributed something like .01% to it! :D

Children are happy, charity is happy, BSN..?

I dunno bout Bioware right now, but I should hope they're happy that the fanbase can do something meaningful and get a message across at the same time.

I think of this like a donation from gamers to gamers/future gamers.
All this to give a chance for future generation to witness and play the glorious games we did.
If it will bring a smile to a child when he/she plays a game and thats thanks to the money we donated then hell yea, mission accomplished.
Hold the line, for a better future of gaming and more smiles for kids!

I'm glad something wonderful has come out of this, and I agree bioware has not supported us or even bothered to comment. It's BSN's finest fans that deserve the pat on the back for turning this negitivity into something positive :wizard:
