Any news on Bioware's reaction to this petition? If they can't change the ending at least explain the plotholes. I doubt they'll be saying anything relevant though until PAX east.

I have an idea for Luke Plunket and all the other guardians of the gates. How about they put their money where their mouths are and start a "Don't change the ME3 endings" Childs Play drive instead of belitling this one while firmly on their high horses.
I find it a bit ironic about how much game "journalists" **** about Roger Eberts snobery when it comes to considering games art but they act just like him. They know whats best for the unwashed masses.

Yeah, have to say.  Kotaku has been less than reliable the past few days while it has been covering the frenzy around ME3.  However, I'm pleased to see that the majority of articles covering the Retake charity movement have been supportive, or at the very least, unbiased.  That's a really cool thing.

If one things for sure that Jim Sterling over at destructoid has really shown his true colors, what a jerk.

Wow. Jim Sterling. What a classy guy. :) Another case of someone who clearly didn't research the group he was writing about before ranting. Trolls will be trolls. Moving on.

And please don't let tell you, it's impossible to do a different ending as long as DLC's ARE POSSIBLE!!!

And patches are possible. Because of that, there ist absolutely no reason why a later made different ending should not be possible...

Go on!!!

Alright, only $127.40 away from $32000! If you don't see it, check the RSS feed, that updates faster than the main page. Let's hold the line!

Gonna admit the tipster that said "bashing the Mass Effect community through one-sided, poorly researched articles." was me. And here's my response to his ridiculous post:

Gonna raise my hand and say I'm the tipster mentioned in the post, and I'm pretty sure I spoke the truth there.
Sterling, you clearly still don't understand - or don't want to understand - the point of both the plea for a new ending and the charity drive. But I'll take some time to explain: fans aren't doing this as a way to force EA/BioWare to release an alternate ending DLC. We're doing this as a way to channel our frustration toward a brighter, more positive goal. The money has been donated, 31k dollars in little over 24 hours, and even if they do not fix the ending, those 31k dollars will still go to Child's Play. We're doing good there, and it might have started with the anger about the Mass Effect 3 ending, but this is no longer the goal.
You can go on trolling for attention and I'm pretty sure you'll talk about the charity drive and the petitions on the next Jimquisition and how we're all oh, such hypocrites, but I really don't care.
I just expected a lot more from Destructoid.

Someone's gotta set them straight.

Thank you! I won't expect an apology or even an acknowledgement that he might have been out of line.  But that really needed to be said. If he even read one page of the thread here, it would be clear that he got the motivations of the group all wrong.  Heck, all he had to do was read the comments on the Chipin page.  Thanks for setting the record straight.  It's hard to keep a cool head when someone is being blatantly antagonistic.

It will be nice to see other websites start reporting on our donations. Websites that are not gaming affiliated.

I've only seen gaming articles thus far, but there are some good ones out there that had some really kind things to say. Jim Sterling and the author of the Kotaku article seem to be in the minority.

They will.  We've just got to give it time and keep getting the word out there.

click the "Chipin" button.  You do it through PayPal, but you do not have to have paypal to donate.  You can donate as a guest with a CC.

Thanks in advance! And I hoped that helped.

Good morning, everyone :) I'll be slow to answer for a while. I'm at work posting this from my iPhone. Congratulations on 32k!! I'll be donating a bit more today. Got paid this morning and am using my "fun" budget (that is, money that doesn't go to bills that I can spare to spend on what I like) to give to the charity. Keep it up, guys. Keelah Se'lai.
