Dare I bring up the Colossus (think that's what its name was. The best, red and black) armor from the first game?

Either way, I didn't notice this, initially. Its ridiculous. Pretty much sums my opinion up.

I just don't get what's the problem with nude sex-scenes then? It's all basically on the same level.

This is an interesting thing about Mass Effect, I think. The franchise that on the one hand prides itself on being progressive about certain issues (I’m thinking homosexuality, perhaps there are others) is on the other hand profoundly stuck in cliched sexualization of women squadmates next to, as HJF4 pointed out, male “cool space monsters”.

I have to say that Mass Effect has never been particularly progressive. I'm not sure where you get that from.

Indeed. Just look at the difference between male/female Shepard body, when both carry fully armored kaidan on their sholdiers, and spar with Vega. FemShep looks very unrealistic.

Male Shepard doesn't seem so realistic in that sparring scene either...ever see the dumbbells James has?

Well Shepard is a cyborg, his muscle tissues are augmented deus ex style.

and stuff.

But Femshep doesn't have muscles at all, nothing to augment.

Wait this is about EDI's ******?

HAHAHA! I'm sorry but when I first saw that body on Mars acting like some lab tech, I was like "ha there is the Cerberus Mole. Looks like she's even got a Miranda ****** going too!!"

Low and behold that became EDI's body, EDI's ******!

<_< It is just a robot replica of a human. No big deal really.

It was designed and manufactured by a cerberus facility.  What purpose does that design detail serve?  Even going to the extent of giving it curves is an odd choice when your ultimate goal is an efficient killing machine.  It can't get through tight spaces with giant metal boobs.  But whatever, it's a sci-fi game so let it slide.  But really?  Some guy in a lab thought it was a necessary design choice to sculpt a metal vagina for it?  Why?  To what end?

The best way to infiltrate a base is to have top credientials and seduce everyone you talk to. It will get you very far. No need to sneak through when you can just do things to distract people to the point that they don't care what is going on.

Yeah Cerberus knows that half the time men's dick do the thinking for them, so it makes sense that they would create a Robot to have a Vagina, ******, and can make her hair real, what I wanna know if did Cerberus think to give her an anal? For Anal Sex?

Also now Joker can have sex with his ship in a more humanized form rather sticking his dick in some odd ship pipping.

Well.... You have to stick the batteries/powercord somewhere to recharge. Having a panel would kill the whole human form and an anus serves no other purpose for a robot....

I disagree it serve the purpose of providing anal sex to seduce people?
I mean that body can likey get it's power from any number of ways sun, touching a computer, hooking a cord into it's @sshole while it sits in the chair next to Joker.

But can it also work for anal sex?

Also I tried my hardest to discourage Joker and EDI from become a couple so Joker wouldn't run away at the end but it' dint work they still hooked up and Joker ran away.

lol :S Every character in mass effect has been sexualised (except joker and garrus).

My main issues were:
- EDI is naked, but eventually ignored it
- Femshep is so skinny she couldn't lift a gun, let alone wear armour
- All females seem to have big ******, not as bad as Dragon Age, but still...
- Ash having her hair down in fights, would have preferred 2 styles she swapped between (since long hair is nice)

Didn't give the sexualised males much thought (since I am a hetro male), but at the end of the day they all have the physical shapes of underwear models and greek gods.

Uh guys? She has nothing when the infamous catsuit is removed. Really, it's a robotic body. Even her eyelashes are just a mass. It's all mouldable apparently but it is an infiltration unit. You'd want to distract the men from those little hydraulic sounds she makes every time she moves.

You should check out the concept art of EDI if you want a laugh. One of the primary concepts has aerolas, not so much nipples but even I as a man thought it was alittle obscene. The EDI thats in the game is the most conservative out of the concepts.

Only if you've configured the game that way.
If you choose "Helmet off only in conversations" you won't have that.

Frankly, being outraged about things like these is simply pathetic, immature and prudish to the point that you want to distort things that are common in real life. Only because Mass Effect is a scifi game doesn't means you have to think as if you would live in a different world.

Come oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon I actually never even realised and it's not a big deal, really it isn't. Everyone is kind of "polished" in the game. I mean, how much fun would it have been if Shephard sprained his ankle or snapped his leg off at the beginning when he slid down that slope? What do you want, beer bellies? Dandruff problems? Come on, it's a game, it's idealisitc, escapism, "perfect world" scenarios. Hell, if games weren't exaggerated at all, Shephard would've have lasted out ME1 never mind 2!

All of this sensitivity is bull. I don't get why people are being so damn sensitive. They have characters, both male and female, built around what the "perfect" form is, based upon our current society. You wanna be pissed at someone? Go be pissed at society. They're providing the framework and example for Bioware to use.

Bioware had a choice to make at every turn that lead to that ridiculous sexbot.
"How big should we make her robo-jugs?"
"Like ****ing ballons."
"Big Kim Kardashian butt and a tiny waist?"
"Durr!"
"How much ****** is too much?"
"That's like asking how much extra cheese is too much, ya idiot!"

I don't think anyone's concept of the perect woman includes a deep, constantly visible came toe. And shame on Bioware for being so immature and believing their fans were so immature.

If you're going to attack EDI then you might as well attack this too.

There will come a time in the not so distant future, where nudity and sexuality in video games will be not only accepted but expected.

Video games have been around for 40 years. Gamers are starting to get older. With that becomes a new market of adult gamers who expect adult games.

With the current rating system we will need a complete overhaul. Parents are letting their young children buy games no matter what they are rated. That is effecting the way games are made, and limiting how far the developer's can go. I applaud Bioware for rattling the hornet's nest on this one. It is such a small detail but it will be interesting to see just how offended people will get.

But eventually the American public will get over their fear of the naked female body and this debate will be irrelevant.

First off, Liara isn't naked there because she's off to the market. That's from a sex scene.
Second, I thought Jack's outfit in ME2 was ridiculous as well.
Third, you're coming off like a Colbert. You applaud Bioware for giving a robot a visible ******? That stupid. And that's what this comes down to- it's stupid. It's not appealing to an adult audience to be so blatantly sexual. It's immature and stupid. I'm not some prudish housewife who thinks seeing sex will ruin a child's mind. I'm someone who expects a game for adults to know that it's male audience isn't comprised of sexual deviants in constant need of blatant sexual stimulation.

Sexualisation seems to be consistent across the board. Don't see any equality problem.

People are too sensitive.
