Because of the rather unique way in which the Geth Plasma Shotgun fires, ammo powers cause a visual glitch, when active on it. I noticed, immediately after firing, while the shotgun is returning to firing position after recoil, there is a "flash-flash-flash" coming from the barrel, that looks very much like the muzzle flashes of an assault rifle.
