I for one have remained civil. Highly critical, but civil. Most of us here have been, in fact I've rarely seen people handle themselves well under such emotional distress, and yes this is distress.

I'm surprised. by the number of threads you have created I thought you would have blown by now. impressive... :)

Well if that happens I would be relieved but you can't really blame them.  Those endings were atrocious... and what, are people not supposed to assume the ending of the game is actually the ending?

That said if they do release DLC (which better be free) of an actual ending... they will have regained my respect.  Having an actual planned for a release at a later date the whole time sounds like a very intriguing concept to me.

Of course it screws over everyone without an internet conection for their consoles, but nevertheless it sounds like a very interesting idea.

Honestly, Jessica's always been civil and understanding and we should be thankful for it. Let's not abuse that, shall we?

Posting here is my way of coping. Don't put too much stock into my name, I'm usually quite mellow.

Yeah, I saw a couple tweets last night from @MassEffect that makes me think they really are taking the criticism seriously and do intend to say or do something about it. Some of their replies to critical tweets betray their frustration with people assuming they're not paying attention (ie something like "We quite aware of the situation. Thank you. That's what the forums are for."). Can't blame 'em there.

I trust they'll do what they can.

Community management is a pretty thankless job. (I've done it. It's not fun, much of the time.) It takes a lot of grace and composure, and it's frequently difficult and personally wearing. A lot of community managers do it primarily for love of the games -- trust me, it ain't the money -- and they tend to burn out quickly.

So yeah, if y'all have a chance, be patient and respectful, and heck -- give them some love if you have that level of compassion in you. The CMs had nothing to do with the writing or shipping of the game, and they're the front line on handling a heckuva lot of strong emotions.

They have my sympathy, and a nice strong drink to boot.

Being civil is of course, obvious.

You have to also understand that humans are emotional creatures, I understand warning people but time to time, things will slip.

Civility is indeed very important in this situation. We're disappointed but most likely they are too. I honestly believe that they were/are extremely proud of the product they put forth (as they should be for 98% of it) and this reaction has to be hard for them. That doesn't mean that we should just swallow it and not speak our minds, but we should still be doing so in a respectful manner. It'll probably take some time for them to come up with a plan to fix this but I trust that they will.

My tweet to her: I've got nothing but love for Bioware, but those endings... I'm trusting Bioware on this one. Hope you do the fans right.

Her response: I appreciate your trust. That's an important thing to have and I don't think you should lose faith :)

While this means very little to most, it meant two things to me:

One, it gave me a little glimmer of hope, because at the very least she is implying that she knows something we don't.
And two, its really nice to see how polite and courteous she was, and that she is actually taking the time to address many of the complaints on an individual level.

Look at that, she could've snobbed us or flied right off the handle after all the viral attacks/ cyber bullying they received. And yet she didn't. That's class right there! Professionalism at its best. I hope they're doing well despite the chaos out there.

I wish all 'em luck!  ^_^ i still want my "disney" ending :) But im not burning Bioware to the ground just to get it.. ;)

The response was way too personalized to the tweet I sent to be automated. She's actually taking the time to respond. Go look for yourself, there are pages of her responding to people.

I will always remain civil but I will be critical.. highly critical... but cause if I did not care about this series I would not be here ... tearing these endings to shreds. I would take my games and trade them in for some like Tales of Grace F but nope. Still have my copy....

So yes I have been and we have been harsh but because its something called Tough Love

I don't know man, even if they have something planned I still feel it wrong that they did not get it right intentionally the first time. It feels almost like a scam if they are going to fix the ending but we have to pay for it.

I would love to have the a-holes that are taking their dislike of the ending to unacceptable levels reigned in and civility rule. Some of the crap that is being said and done is completely uncalled for and unacceptable. Those people do not represent the majority of us that are unhappy with the ending.

I, too, am holding out hope, but it's fading. We want a response of some sort Bioware. This isn't going to just blow over.

I think her biggest give-away at the ending is the obvious;
- "if you just finished today then I would advise that you sit down (AFK) with a warm beverage & think about it a bit Seriously."

Take the hint. Indoctrination speculations are accurate.

So Shepard becoming a Reaper minion is... better than the endings so far?

Or is there some sort of angle to the Indoctrination argument I'm missing? Granted, the mind game aspect makes sense with all the "suddenly people are back on the Normandy which is in hyperspace even though it had no way to get there right away...", but still.

And yes, the outrage IS currently justified. Now, if Bioware fixes this... then the forgiveness will begin. But until then, Bioware and EA gets no more $ from me. Period.

Yea, reminds me of the ****ty movie Repomen or something. You wakeup and realize that after halfway of the movie, you got knocked out which resulted in paralysis and are dreaming lool.

I would agree. Most posts have been fairly civil. Some are just reacting out of anger and others are using humor to fight tears, but most are civil.
ME is an amazingly well done game, that's why we care how it ends.

And... why didn't they include this in the game in the first place?!?

Leaving it as a mystery is pretty poor form, honestly. Though it does make a startling amount of sense when phrased like that.

I suppose it makes sense.  How can a company get away with selling an incomplete game and then selling the real ending as a DLC?  Make the first 'ending' so bad that people beg for you to just do that.

Well yeah something is coming. Bioware realized the fans didnt like something they thought they would, so they are scrambling to make new endings. No release right now because then Bioware cant say this was all planned. When they are finally ready to be released Bioware will go, we planned this all along, and here are the endings because what you did was a dream....

Easiest route for them atleast, and if I was at bioware, i'd just take it. *shrug*

You need to understand the fundamental point of the indoctrination theory.
Shep is being indoctrinated. Shep is *not* indoctrinated. You're in the middle of the process.
This theory holds hope of resistence. The endings have no hope, in the actual endings you ARE a Reaper minion, following the instructions of the Reaper god.

I am really starting to wish they would just come out and say "that's just the way it is, deal with it" end of story. At least that would let people know what's what.

Oh and I think people are reading way too much to the tweets. You can see all the tweets here

http://twitter.com/#!/jessicamerizan

It seems like the person is just asking people to calm down, have a drink, talk about it and the ending will seem amazing.... or something like that.
