(hopefully this is where I can post this)

 Hey there,

I've been playing Mass Effect 3 Collectors Edition for the PS3 and I've had some problems doing side quests. I'm not talking about framerate issues, this is more of a problem where I can't track my progress with sidequests.

In Mass Effect 2, when you access your Codex/Journal to check your missions/sidequests  it breaks down your progress in the quest (showing the progress you've made, and also what the next step in the quest).

In Mass Effect 3 you get a brief description of the quest and that's about it. No telling you what you've done, or what you need to do next and in doing so gamers forget what their next course of action is.

M.E. is an amazing franchise and hopefully a patch could help fix this.

Forgive me if it comes across as petty complaining, it's just something that really bothers a grinder (doesn't touch the Priority Objective until all side quests are done first) like me.

Yeah I noticed that and is annoying I'm glad I got the prima guide. Is it a glitch or they made it that way?

Yea the descriptions for some of the side quests dont tell you where you have to go, i spent like an hour trying to figure out the hanar diplomat misson on the citidal, to then find out that it was actually glitched and i now can not complete the mission. like what you said sonic, i also like to complete all the side quests before i move on to the next priority objective, i hope somthing can be resolved about this.

The journal in ME2 is the best, everything is broken down into parts and it's easy for you to see what needed to be done next.

In ME3, the journal doesn't even say whether you already have the thing you needed to complete the mission and since I usually do a bunch of them together, I ended up needing to run around Citadel just to see which mission I have completed.

I don't like the way the Journal is laid out either.
Seems to have a cursor memory too as you're constantly having to scroll up to look at the missions/sometimes defaults to the secondary codex.

Should have shoved the manual back into the extra's menu...oh wait....it is there already.

The codex should have had it's own section.

Not digging all these Citadel: Fetch Quests :(

Unrelated:

The distance that pickups/items in the field were visible has been decreased. Now you have to go quite close to areas of interest/pickups etc. to interact with/see them.
Sometimes in Mass Effect 2 you could see pickups/items that were on the other side of walls.
Miss the bypass minigame.
The game seems very dumbed down :(

Seriously they took a STEP BACK. With quest tracking.

I'm really upset about this.

It may not hold your hand like ME2 did, but I certainly didn't find it hard or confusing to do the side quests. It would have been nice to have a "Quest Completed" notification, but w/e. Just collect side quests, complete them, then turn them in before doing the main quest line. Not all of them break it down by telling you the exact system, sub-system, and planet to go to...but most tell you the system to hit up. Just scan and collect till you're at 100% for that system. A lot of the Citadel ones are in N7 missions, just make sure you look everywhere before finishing.

I completed the Hannar Citadel quest without it bugging out. The journal tracking can be quite vexing at times but what I did was just use the map to find the quest objectives as they are usually marked on there. The people, the terminals etc. it saves a lot of time. The only real problem I had was that 2 quests were lost when I completed the Krogan DMZ quests so make sure you do The Cereberus mission on Benning before you complete the Krogan DMZ.

I won't say more cause of spoilers.

I bugged the Hannar quest and the second Elcor quest...I am completionist, playing next to a computer using wiki page helps.

But to be honest...really suck that it doesnt keep track automatically.
