There is a passage in the book "The Stolen Throne" which made me think of it.
Loghain and Maric are meeting this witch of the wild who has many names and is going to help Loghain and Maric for a promise, "Made by the King[Marcic] to me in private , and never spoken of again to anyone".
So Maric agrees nad this is what's in the book:
He had gon into her hut and remained there for hours, long enough that Loghain grew concerned. He had been trying to peer in through it's one filthy, grit-covered window when Maric walked out of the doo, alone. The man seemed shaken and quiet and was resistant to even the most casual effeorts.
And that's it, it is never mentioned in the book again. As I was reading the book for the first time back in March I did think nothing of it, but now, reading the book a second time after playing the game, it just makes sense, at least for me.
Could Morrigan actually be Alistairs sister?

Oh I hope not. EW! That would make any female PC's playthrough potentially really disgusting.

Incest!
It is possible though.

Really, it's a devil-child and the thought of incest bothers you?

Not a devil-child, a god-child.
Sounds better that way.

Evil witch concieves baby through unwilling sex to infuse it with archdemon blood using blood magic.
If that doesn't scream devil-child, I don't know what does.

Yeah, I don't see it as being a devil child. I don't buy the Chantry's line about the Old Gods being evil, and I agreed with Morrigan that it was worth preserving. Alas my femPC was unable to make babies with Morrigan so it was up to Alistair.
Sorry, Alistair. I really hope she wasn't your sister into the bargain, haha!

I don't buy Chantry dogma either, but neither do I buy Morrigan's untainted old god nonsense.
At best she gives birth to a quasi-dragonspawn, and you know what? Dragons are just trouble.
I stand by my devil-child assertions.

Dragon-child. Worst he'll do is demand worship and get slain by 4-40 people for loot.

Unwilling sex? It's not like she rapes the PC or Alistair/Loghain.

I'm talking about Alistair. You seriously think he wants to bed *that* evil witch, especially if he's in a relationship with a female PC?

If he says that he agrees to do it, I'd consider him a willing participant. Idk, "unwilling sex" just made it sound like he's being dragged kicking and screaming to be violated. When in truth, he's given a choice.

Yeah, if you have a female PC you have to coerce him. I don't really want to get into a discussion about coerced consent on a videogame board but I don't think calling it "unwilling sex" is inaccurate.

On topic:
Before release, I thought that Morrigan & Alistair being siblings was a big plot twist that I'd been spoiled of by reading the forums and seeing a bunch of speculation related to The Stolen Throne.

I actually had this same thought after reading the Stolen Throne! I am so glad I'm not the only one. I didn't say anything at the time because I thought it could be a huge, huge, HUGE spoiler. And later on, I just plain forgot. And recently, I WISHED I could forget.
It really added a whole new feeling of horror to the scene of Alistair and Morrigan having sex; the idea that neither of them realized they were half-siblings. That the whole potentially very scary child resulting from a dark blood ritual was the product of incest is even nastier to think about. It's the stuff apocalyptic legends are made of.

Arthurian legend, even.
"Gross" as it may be, I think Alistair and Morrigan being half-siblings is made all the more likely by the possibility of their encounter. Shades of Arthur and Morgause.
(Morgause being King Arthur's half-sister and the mother of Modred/Mordred, his eventual nemesis, by him)

Actually, I was reading through the books and I thought almost this exact same thing, I do not think that it was Morgain is Flemeth's child as they did spend a lot of time in there; however going through the books they went over a lot of the future. Plus it seemed to me that her age hadn't changed for a while. However, I was thinking that Morgain could be a child promised to Flemeth, obviously it couldn't be Rowan's as she would have either had to take time off fighting during the war or someone would have noticed her having a pregnancy and it would be hard to hide the child. Best guess is father is Maric and the mother is either Fiona, Alistair's mother or someone else.
That would be 4 children for Maric lol, wonder who the last one is.
