That makes even less sense. When Shepard comes too he hears over the comm them asking if anyone made it. Why would they be asking that if it happened hours ago? Plus if they retreated then when you get up there and open the arms the Crucible wouldn't be there.

I just replayed it, you are speaking about the events after the Harbringer zap. I am refering to the moment when you wake up after the floating white platform. Stating the possibility of Shepard being 'out' for hours after he passes out from the Anderson TIM scene and before waking up to the Star Child.

As my post said before afterwards, the rest still just takes a left turn to make no sense crazy town.

I am playing Kingdoms of Alamur, there is a certain... poetic irony to be playing the Fateless One, a person with no fate that can change the fates of others after playing ME3.

Excellent thread. Like others have already said, this should be stickied. Or, all this information could be copied into the mega-thread. That's been on the first page for days.

Just came looking for this thread, I had to go a few pages deep on the forum to find it. Amazing how fast this place is moving given that the last post in this thread was an hour ago.

Anyway, just wanted to say good work to all, let's keep this list of resources growing.

I was tempted to edit my original post to add the other links. But that doesn't quite have the same bump-coefficient. :innocent:

Hehehe indeed.

Kingdoms of Amalur, huh? I thought it was an interesting premise (I played the demo), maybe I should rent it and see if I like it.

Good for Forbes. It is sad how people in the industry don't understand this. I watched a Destroctoid episode where the host compares our complaints to spraying graffati on a Piccaso, heckling a drama production, and asking that the resturant redo our soup will just get them to spit in it.

I decided to do a test, I basically had to go see my parents (I had to go home cause the family dog is sick) and showed them that video. They thought what he said made no sense what so ever because someone does complain their soup is bad, people have heckled in theatre when the drama troop was bad, and don't see how we are vandalising a piece of art. Heck when I explained the situation they saw what we are doing is more like we bought a Van Gogh, and then discovering it is forgery or the gallery damaged it before delivery. You are fully in your right to complain.

Pretty much their line was these people don't know how the real world works and half the things he said was probably most idiotic examples they heard. Also they did not understand where all the snide remarks came from. Aren't these people suppose to be professional?

That is what I find so sad, IGN and Destructoid doesn't realise just what people outside of the game industry think of them. I am glad someone in Forbes (even if they are just a contributor) is bringing the attention up to the 'real' world.

I tend to just pay no attention to detractors that, rather than respond to raised criticisms with counter arguments, go straight for cheap shots and insults. IGN/Destructoid/half the forum's opinions tend to be worthless to me as a result.

It's good seeing wider media running their own viewpoints on this, anyway. It's slightly harder to accuse major international business economics journals of being "whiny entitled children" than, say, some guy on an internet forum.

Having just beaten the game myself, thinking all the fuss wasn't that bad for the endings... I was totally wrong when I finally got to the end, wow that did leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Yeah, thank god for Forbes to shed light on the idiocy that supposedly fellow game sites (IGN/Destructoid, etc.) are doing. I agree with bleet's sentiment--how others perceive what is happening vs those already in the industry who see, and still just don't get it.

I wouldn't be this concerned with a new ending if I hated the series. I love the series, the universe, the character, and 95% of the third game.

I completely agree with you. It makes IGN and Destructoid look like absolute "yes" men, and also ignorant. I especially like the "Entitled Gamers or Smart Consumers" article. The Game Front article "5 Reasons the Fans Are Right" is also supurb. It seems like the media is mostly on our side, though. This is at a point where BioWare just can't ignore it without further ruining their reputation. I'll keep hoping for a positive resolution while I wait for a response...

At this point, I'm still stewing over what is going on with the issue of the ME3 endings. But, I'll tell you what part of me is thinking.

Part of me is thinking that this has been planned, and that Bioware fully intends to release a final ending.

Part of me is thinking that the script being leaked is the cause of it.

Part of me is thinking that Casey Hudson is deliberately being economical with the truth because that is the plan.

Part of me is thinking that Bioware are sitting in a concrete bunker, cringing and desperate to tell everyone, but simply can't until the game is worldwide and more have played it.

Part of me is thinking that this is a massive gamble by them which is teetering on the verge of backfiring horribly (although some would argue that they are getting so much flak at present that a potential 'backfire' is the least of their problems).

And, try as I might, I can't exorcise this line of thinking from my mind at present.

It could be that, like others, I'm just grasping at straws, coupled with the few criptic comments that have been made by Bioware elsewhere, and that all this is complete nonsense.

But...I just needed to say it anyway.

I am hopeful that something like Moi's thoughts are true. I love Bioware and their games! I just want to see an ending that does the EPIC trilogy they made justice. :3

I perceive a great many people who think our outcry to be out of place have never worked in the entertainment industry. Had one of the theatres I worked with over the years made the choice to drastically change one of their performances in a manner that cared not for the audience's reaction, the seats would have been found seriously more vacant by the next weekend without a doubt.

Like it or not, video games are a part of the entertainment industry....heck all art has a financial backer in one form or another.

You can't trust most game review sites these days because of this.
www.youtube.com/watch

There was even a case of a reviewer getting fired for giving a game a bad score. It was over Kane and Lynch 2. Also notice how rarely games get less than 5-6 these days. And most of those I think are from smaller studios without the $. How sad is it that on a scale of 1-10 even really bad games don't get under 5. Sites like Forbes can be objective cause they don't have to worry about maintaining good relation with EA.

There are a few that maintain their integrity when rating stuff but those are few and far between. That's why I prefer to look at user ratings on sites like Metacritic. Even in the case of mass negative bomb complain, which is often obvious, you can quickly do a search and find out what the controversy is over.

EDIT: For better break down www.youtube.com/watch

Oo-kay..

----
@JessicaMerizan If only one of those implications wasn't that Tali was stranded on a mysterious planet w/o Shepard... 8

Jessica Merizan ‏
@Dr_Endless so choose red and go save her :)

-------

@JessicaMerizan @vrumpt Hasn't Shep earned being able to celebrate with his/her LI after saving the galaxy? Ignore the dieing part :P )
Jessica Merizan ‏ @JessicaMerizan Close @3K__ @vrumpt LOL! OK I'll ignore that. Yes, and one ending choice allows for that possibility :)
-----

Did I actually do good for choosing the Destory option...? Hmmm....

P.S. For those that don't know, Jessica Merizan is Bioware's Community Manager.

EDIT: Okay, so it seems she was just leading us on with her own personal speculation, rather than providing any cryptic 'insider' info.

Bad Bioware! Pouring gasoline on a fire does NOT put it out!

Oh well, there goes that possibility...
