So I was talking to my friend today. Very artistic girl... and I'm actually kinda okay with the ending if her idea's are true...

*Disclosure*: I still want an epilouge, but the ending does not need to be changed, IF THE FOLLOWING IS TRUE.

*Breaks into Grease singsong mode* Tell me more, tell me more!

Post entered too soon...
But I can't watch that movie without thinking of the Prothy/Shep version of it XD. I'm pretty sure you saw it...

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite thread on the BSN.

Kudos for a well re-search, well documented post, THIS is how the debate should be!

The fans to BioWare: "There are some...inconsistencies..."

I had to throw that out there, for the laughs.

Perfect description of the ending.

This is what someone needed to say to whoever came up with the current Ending during the dev meeting.

This is a blog post where the author dismantles three of the most commonly used arguments against folks unhappy with the ending. It's a good read, especially if you happen to get into a conversation with someone who wants to play one of these three cards: Entitlement, But it's art!, and It's the journey, not the destination!

Thanks, guys! I have new additions to make starting tomorrow...overhauls galore! I'm going to attempt to fully alphabetize the articles list, highlighting them by color as to their stance on the endings. (Green = don't like, Red = like, Blue = neutral/unbiased) ...U see what I did there? Lol.

I'm also going to add the stuff that's been brought up over the last couple of pages and do some general clean-up of the OP. I've also noticed a lot more Fleet banners pop up, including France, New Zeland, Norway, and Chile, so I'll be adding those, too.

Good news, I've brought this thread to the attention of the head of the Facebook/Twitter side of the movement. This will be good in the long run! Speaking of the long run, I hope you guys are ready to dig in your heels and be patient, because it may be a while before BioWare decides to do anything or say anything definitive. Keep the faith and hold the line!!!

I just stopped reading at this point and was like, "HOLD THE LINE?"  ;)

Thanks again for keeping this thread in order.  It's no small feat sifting through a thread that gets a bajillion posts a minute.

Big and mostly good news everyone. Dr. Ray responds!

Bioware response

Building on their research, Exec Producer Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity for those seeking further closure to their journey. You’ll hear more on this in April. We’re working hard to maintain the right balance between the artistic integrity of the original story while addressing the fan feedback we’ve received. This is in addition to our existing plan to continue providing new Mass Effect content and new full games, so rest assured that your journey in the Mass Effect universe can, and will, continue.

Yes, he responds. And basically says, "we're walking the middle line as carefully as we can because we really don't want to do anything but we also don't want to ****** you off to the point that you'll stop spending money with us.  I love the ending.    "Trust us."    That just leaves me facepalming. :)

I think the whole situation is rather exciting and if they do actually provide a little more closure in the end, it might turn out to be one of the most unique gaming experiences with all this uncertainty fueling the passion towards an already mostly amazing game and I'm really glad, that I have been following that game so closely.
For now I wait and see!

Yes this is good news and while I don't begrudge anyone who remain skeptical as always we must have realistic expectations . Even if they were going to fully rewrite the ending (unlikely as hell) they could not and would not tell us at this point. As it is they've said something that we will all take as a promise to "fix the endings" so if most of us aren't satisfied with the fix they know we will be even more pissed off if they don't keep their word.

And if that day does comes then I'm buying the torches and pitchforks for all of us!  Until then cautious optimism and relief.

Indeed! I'm facepalimg with abbandon. Trust has to be earned. And when trust has been lost, it's even harder to regain.

I wish I could trust Bioware, I really do. But I can't right now: they've done nothing to regain my trust. As the saying goes: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I can't trust them until they earn it back, and a letter telling me that I should trust them doesn't count.

I do wish they'd stop acting as if the only people with a problem are this tiny subset within the 'most passionate' fanbase. Or that 'thinking the ending was an abyssmal mess' and 'thinking the entire rest of the game was excellent' are somehow mutually exclusive.

ZP Review of ME3 is up

http://www.escapistm...7-Mass-Effect-3

He doesn't really talk about the ending other than to say "It could of been worst." But you won't see BW PR spinning it that way.

Looking at the reaction from Muzyka. We need to remind ourselves to be "nice".

Constructive criticism, I hope, they are taking in. But we can't turn the media against us by being "ardent fanboys"

The news from Muzyka is better than no news, but two things rub me the wrong way.

"So many critics gave it a perfect score!"

Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock has known for a long time now that even the crappiest of games are hard pressed to get a low score. Most gamers I know look to user reviews and their own experience to judge a game, not by the overwhelmingly top-heavy reviews out there. You can't tell me money has nothing to do with it, either.

The second thing is where he eludes to the fact that the ending was what was envisioned and was artfully crafted by the team.

I'll eat my boots if that's true. They had to have been rushed by unrealistic deadlines. That's not something you want to admit but to expect us to believe it is something else.

I'll give them the feedback they need, not the feedback they want. There will be no personal attacks from me, and indeed, there never were. Just the truth.

Especially his doublespeak here and there. "The most ardent fans..."

"loyal fans" addressing the problems. Underlying tone is that everyone else seem to think it was fine. (Which may or may not be true, there are only so many forum goers, I respect that)

And then the classic nod to the team, sayin that they did a great job. (Which they did, tremendous, amazing, magical job...execept for the final 10 minutes)

Another article to add to the ever growing list; at least neutral, along with an epic comment vivisection of the ending.
