This is my new home for Retake after the PR thread was shut down. We'll keep it plenty civil. And not accuse certain companies of buying reviews. (Really, of all the things to shut down THAT thread for?)

The way Ray worded his statement, it sounds like they are simply going to explain the already existing (and plot-hole ridden and inconsistent) endings...how are they going to do that. I don't think most of us would even like the current endings regardless of 'explanation'. How does one explain plot holes? I think the general (not everyone, obviously) consensus has been for new endings (or indoctrination, which I think works too).

Yeah that's pretty much the consensus, whether or not that violates Bioware's "artisic integrity" is another matter altogether.

I really don't want Mass Effect to go down in sci-fi history as 'the one with the crappy ending'. Even if the alternative is 'the one with the ending you have to buy separately'.

This isn't a PR thread, it's a thread dedicated to a summarization of our most common grievances with the endings, along with links to media both supporting us, and attacking us. When we get a Press Release I have no doubt it will appear here, but the thread that was shut down was specifically made to highlight possible Bioware PR tactics being taken.

Yeah that's pretty much how it happened, I remember exactly what kind of face I was making while watching it as well. It was pretty much the same face Shepard makes when EDI tries to make a joke.

Someone tried to resurrect the PR thread, that's what Flipzide was talking about.

I assume you meant the joke about EDI forget to refresh the oxygen. I would argue that my reaction to the endings was less that of horror (btw, Shepard's reaction was priceless, I think), and more like of utter confusion. I remember finding myself (after the 'stay tuned for more DLC' message) back on board Normandy, trying to speak to the crew, only to realise that the last autosaved was replaced by the one just prior to invading Cerberus HQ.

What you could say that struck me as realisation in horror, was the fact that I experienced all endings with a single playthrough (I had copied the last autosave just before making my choice).

I've noticed alot of people mentioning the "Re-take Mass Effect" extremes. The one's threatening to kill people, etc.

Not mentioning anyone in specific, just a friendly reminder that people will always see the extremes, so be civil.

Again, just an overall warning. Not saying it's the people in here, but that we need to be careful.
