Check this! All hail Hale!

International Business Times: Mass Effect 3 Ending: 'I Prefer To Live In Denial,' Says Jennifer Hale

Very fair assessment by Jennifer Hale...her feelings regarding the endings are mixed.

The fact that Hale hasn't been called in is indeed troubling.

However, the fact that she's sympathetic (to all involved, not just us) and is impressed by the organization, motivation, and tenacity behind the Retake movement is encouraging.

It's nice to see and she's a great gal, for sure.

However, it's looking like we are just going to get some half assed cutscenes to explain why we got the ending's we got.

If that's the case and we get some half-assed cutscenes, I'll be really questioning Bioware's ability to deliver on any future products.

However unlikely, there is still hope that they may be able to turn this whole thing around.

I dunno, maybe I'm deluding myself. <_<

The depression stage of that latest forbes article brought up something that has been on the back of my mind for a few years now. Story based RPGs seem to be going away and it seems that Bioware was one of the few if not last company that was holding that line for us. I just have never been able to get into sandbox RPGs in fact I don't think I have finished an Elder Scrolls game.

It is going to be a very depressing day if we lose what we love about Bioware.

Indeed I don't understand why BIoware want to move to sandbox RPGs.

Skyrim was great, but it had very little character involvement besides quest giving and information. It feels lonely compared to a bioware story RPG.

Something has to be said for story based, linear RPGs. They are alot of fun and can have strong narrative.

Hm. This is interesting.

Cinema Blend: Penny Arcade Lets EA's Charity Slide But Not Retake Mass Effect 3

So... what do you guys think of the annoucement of the ending: extended cut?

http://social.biowar.../index/11021386

First off, I was expecting this. I was hoping for more, but expecting this.

Its free, and from the sounds of it, may be a significant investment on their part. The ending may be the most polished turd in the world after this.

But that's just it, 'closure' and 'clarification' are not all we wanted. Most of us wanted starchild gone, more diverse endings and plotholes filled. Sounds like none of this will be achieved, in the name of 'artistic vision'.

I'll reserve judgement until its released, but definitively going to not buy any DLC until then. And even then, it better blow me away to get another dime.

Soooo, all we have to do is wait until summer eh? Although I understand that things like that take time, I think it's also to get people off their backs.... I mean summer, strictly speaking, starts in 2 months, and is plenty of time for people to lose interest.

This is what I expected too.

I told them multiple times it would not be enough to repair that ending. They're sticking a bandaid on a wound that needs stitches.

I think it's time Bioware and I parted ways. They hear us, but they aren't really listening.

Since Hale denounced this article on her official Twitter, I have replaced it with the original source article in the OP.

It's just a case of them doing the minimum necessary to address the complaints. And, unfortunately, it will most likely work for the rest of the general public, inasmuch as it looks like BioWare have bent over backwards to please their 'spoiled brat' fans. -_-

Clever thing they did.
Thursday: We are not changing the endings..
Friday: But we are giving you all free things!

Internally dividing the Retake Movement?

Maybe I'm just cynical...

Free stuff is logical, otherwise they'd just be looking for more anger from our part. I never trully believed they'd actually change anything so this isn't a surprise. What would be a surprise, would be they admitting that this excuse for an ending is not of the usual quality of storytelling we are used to and expecting from them.

As for the DLC, I'd bet it'll be something like the ending cards seen on NWN, Jade Empire, DAO (something that I think should be here anyway), maybe even a couple of cutscenes with no dialogue to show what happened next.
