Interesting article, though admittedly these points had been covered before. Still good the topic doesn't die down because it keeps the pressure up.PedEgg wrote...

I think people are being really weird about this.
also the relays dont explode in the control ending someone who picks blue would never think that they did you're only saying that because you've seen the other endings where the scene is longer. Bioware wanted the relays to survive in blue but they were under the wire and had to make the ending as cheaply as possible because EA wasnt gonna let them delay it till summer because thats a dead zone according to earnings reports and paperwork and file cabinets and three letter word documents that guys in ties put into piles to give to guys to put into other piles in a cubicle thats what gaming is now just abunch of office management databases.

That has never been officially confirmed, it's all speculation at this point.
Then again, according to Mac Walters, speculation at the end is a good thing.
Mac also "confirmed" everyone on the Citadel dies on Twitter, but hints from the devs about the Extended Cut DLC debunk that claim. Also, StarChild definitively says, "Releasing the energy of the Crucible will end the cycle, but it will also destroy the mass relays." That means all the choices will destroy the relays, because all the choices will have to use the Crucible's energy to implement Shepard's choice.Doctor_Jackstraw wrote...

I'm pretty sure mac walters has confirmed the relays surviving in control.
Anyways what you said can be taken and turned the other way. Its speculation that the relays are destroyed in blue. The only reason you'd think the relays explode is because it happens in the other endings. So that only applies to people who have seen the other endings.
Anyways I really think it was budgetary concerns that lead to this misunderstanding of the end result.

I think budgetary reasons are probably also a huge contributing factor to why these endings are so similar and suck so much, but also probably a time crunch factor, too. That doesn't excuse their quality, though...because the rest of the game was pretty amazing. It just proves they can't be creative under pressure.

They're using the bad fan reaction to the ending as clever marketing now.

I think I said it before at some point (if not here, then on another forum), but I would have been perfectly happy to wait a little while to play the game if it meant it would be perfect. Also, if that's the case, I find it rather hypocritical that they defend the artistic team's creative vision and artistic integrity when the ones they should be telling that to are the suits.
Edit: just dawned on me the word I was looking for

*Sigh* If only EA were willing to do the same. But no, they need their money NAO! XD
LOL probably not.unoriginalname1133 wrote...

I think the ME team is long gone from the forums.pikey1969 wrote...
Bump, because this is one of few threads on the front page that really warrants attention from the Devs, who I can only PRAY are still occasionally browsing here for fan feedbacks during this critical time (no VA being contacted yet means they're still on the drawing board for the EC patch).
I can see them now, in that huge swimming pool filled with money...Jagri wrote...
