You're very welcome! I will be updating it soon...like as in Sunday before I go to bed soon. That's my goal! Not much to add, but sitting for any period of time right now is very painful. I threw my back out a week ago and it's not very happy with me.Chief Commander wrote...
I am planning on writing an essay on this topic, so this compendium is extremely appreciated. Thank you very much.
To make matters worse, I got a drawing tablet yesterday and I've been having so much fun playing with it. But I can't sit down for more than half an hour before I have to move, or else my back will stiffen up and I can't do anything. XD It's been nothing short of torture. Lol!
As always, I hope all is well!

Updates to the OP are almost complete. I have two new Forbes articles that I dug up:
EA Cleared of False Advertising Charges Over 'Mass Effect 3' Ending
Mass Effect 3 Is About The Journey, Not The Destination According To New GameStop Ad (How desperate are they to move their stock, I wonder?)

More Circle Time With Chris, podcasts, #ForOurLI info, and news articles!
Edit: The list of contributors at the end is cut off, and I am aware of it. However, I have tried several times to fix it, and it's in the box when I copy-paste from my document into the box here, but somehow it doesn't show up when I save. I'll be working on the issue. *Le Sigh*
In the mean time, check out this GameFront article: Mass Effect 3's Advertising Was Never the Issue. This is in the wake of the UK Advertising Standards Authority ruling that EA didn't falsely advertise Mass Effect 3's ending scenario or the role of player choice.
What do you guys think about this?

What is infuriating with all this, is that he talks about it as it is a done deal, that it is already being (at the time of the article 10-Jan-2012), and it is expected to be in the game. However, I didn't see any evidence of these wildly diverse endings, nor how my choices matter, unless they meant that my choices are interpreted as an increase in the Galactic Readiness, because other than that, it all seemed the same to me.
I've said it before, I go along with the belief that the devs didn't get the time to properly implement what ideas they had planned. The endings are not so different because they were rushed so the game could be finalised for production. For me, the problem with the endings mostly centers around the fact that you can actually choose your ending, rather than it playing out as a result of your previous choices (ie ME3 ending vs ME1,2, DAO endings). On the other hand, I don't think it was a bad thing you were given the option of how to end the conflict, just that the options were limited, forced, only slightly different and morally questionable. They say that there are 16 different endings, but depending on how good your EMS is before the return to Earth, you can have up to 3 endings, and those even play out more or less the same. You don't see proof of how your choices affect the game, nor their result.
In any case I think I got a little bit off-track. My opinion? EA and BioWare are grasping for whatever they are given to justify this excuse of and ending to an otherwise incredible product of their work. And while I think being redeemed with regards to falsely advertising is no great victory (since initial advertising was not the issue, although lately we've seen some questionable ads), it just gives them more leeway to be sloppy.

Great and Horrifying endings deserve to be in ME3, with the great endings being no exception. I don't care whether bioware uses the Indoctrination Theory, the Beings of Light theory, or both; I just hope the the EC adds closure to everything we worked on, such as:
- What happens to the alliances Shepard makes?
- If Shepard romances Tali, do we get to see her face as well as details of her future?
- If Shepard romances anyone else, does he get to unravel their mysteries and details of their future?
- Whether or not Shepard is alone, what happens to him after?
- Will the galaxy stay in peace?
- What happens to Shepard's crew?
- What about the questions presented in ME1 and 2 that were not answered in 3?
I hope that these things and more are answered in the EC. Arrgh, I can't wait for it to come out!

I went to full time recently so not much computer time. I'll stop by for bumps and updates!

Yeah Gamestop's newest ad is a big middle finger, imo. xD

lol you can't really blame Gamestop, they're just trying to run their business. It must be hard with all those returned copies. Gamestop would be just as s****ty at EA/Bioware for getting them to sell an inferior product.

I'll sit back and wait to see what people think, but my heart has sunk already.
I don't want an expansion of the crap choices. Sorry. :/
But it's not fair unless I give it a chance, right? x_x

I was a little concerned when they spoke as though we were just being emotional because we didn't want to let go of the series or whatever. Beyond the execution and confusion, there are some things about the ending which are objectively broken from a narrative/story-telling perspective. It is a little worrisome that it seems they will not recognize this.
But like you said, I haven't actually seen it yet, so I should withhold judgement for now.

They have an image where Mr. Walters is reviewing the scene where Joker disengages the battle on Earth. So, he still runs, we just get to find out why. Still. Joker. Runs. Away.
I imagine I will still be stuck with a defeated Shepard at the end making theme-breaking, half-arsed choices without so much as a fight but this time the cinematics afterwards will be more diverse and less confusing.
This is what I think the EC will be. Was I expecting any more from them? NOPE. Did I have the smallest bit of hope they would have actually listened and fixed the biggest problem? Admittedly, just a little. Again, if the whole thing wasn't an indoctrination attempt at this point I really don't see the EC saving the game.
I won't be be downloading it. I'll just wait to hear from others. I expect a number of people who only cared about "closure and clarity" will be happy. The rest of us will still have a sour taste in our mouths.
I apologize if I'm being a downer. But I can't really have high expectations for this. If I do, it'll be like playing through ME3 all over again. So I'll just continue to wait a little longer than others, and see.

No matter what the EC brings, we all knew that it wouldn't solve a lot of fundamental problems with the endings. I urge everyone to judge it for what it is, not for what it should have been, and do not do so until you have seen it for yourself.
I will be going off the internet grid for a day or so in order to process EC and come to my own conclusions about its quality and content. When I come back, I will bring EC updates with me!

I'll avoid talking specifics in case any of you haven't seen it yet, but I made a more comprehensive rambling on this earlier, so here that is if you want to take a look.

The long and short of it, though, is that I think it's better...but in the same sense that perfume makes garbage smell better.
But where does this leave us? Is there any hope left for something more? I don't know what to think.

I'm just done. This will always be the series that came so far but faltered in the end.
I still don't understand why control is smart enough to only target the reapers but destroy isn't capable of that.
Not to mention it's still wrong to end a game with a magic device that magically does things with the press of a button(or shooting a stupid pipe thing).
I thank the developers and VAs for all their hard work but I will never forgive those in charge who had the ability to make things right but refused to.
