Really good idea to have a kind of "central" thread. Couldn't agree more with what's being said to.

I urge everyone to listen to CDRSkyShepard and KEEP - IT - CIVIL. I know, just as he does, just as many of us do, that a lot of us are frustrated by how this played out in the last few minutes after such an amazing trilogy (and that includes ALL of ME3 until the endings, the game is nothing short of amazing). But you have to realize that the only thing that has ANY chance of making a MEANINGFUL impact, the only right kind of impact, is us calmly and logically explaining what we think and know is wrong with the ending(s).
And I feel this thread is the way to go as far as that's concerned.
When I say logically, there's still nothing wrong with being emotional about the whole ordeal. In the end, isn't that the whole point of us getting so invested in the whole matter?
But please, let us not give any moderator any good reason to shut this thread down. Think of this thread as our Crucible.
I wholeheartedly approve of this message and will lend my support. I am beyond amazed that there is a Child's Play donation drive tied to this. Shows how much the media knows when they talk smack about us. If Mass Effect, this story, never had the emotional impact on us that it did, then this would've never happened.
And I know some of you are not gonna agree or even believe me, but I have faith in BioWare. If we make our case the way this thread compels us to do, we'll make it.
So, that being said, let's take a look at our War Assets Terminal, shall we?
[NEW] Germans
The germans, having to constantly deal with the rumor of them being scat-obsessed for whatever reason, have lent their support to the effort to retake ME3. Making horrible movies and TV shows, but awesome beer and bratwurst, they are masters at spilling drinks at the Purgatory Bar in idiotic outfits.
->
[NEW] Loreshield
Being a gamer for over 20 years, Loreshield has accompanied his comrades on the cause ever since 2007, when Mass Effect was released. After all but wetting himself over how good he felt Mass Effect 3 was, his resolve was only strengthened over the perceived lack of quality in the ending to that game.
UPDATED
By the end of the week - seeing as he is a broke-as-heck college student who only gets paid for giving courses in first aid on the spot - Loreshield will donate to Child's Play, further increasing the fleet's strength in the process.
He has now joined the movement to retake ME3 and will work on the project in whatever way necessary.
Long story short - HOLD THE LINE, MEN [and women]! HOLD THE LINE.
Loreshield reporting for duty to the European fleet.

Add my ghostly voice to the list of sorely disappointed (verging on disgusted) with the ending. I've played through ME1-2 with all DLC three times, the third just to make sure I was up to speed for ME3 (lost previous saves when my HD crashed). I've played DA 1-2 with all the DLC and I pre-ordered ME3 in March of 2011.
I loved the game, even with the deaths of Mordin, Thane and Kelly. Avenging Thane's death actually got me out of the chair yelling 'YES!!!' Mordin's "I really would have liked to have run those tests on the sea shells" line brought me to tears (I have NEVER cried during a game before in my life)
I was, like so many others, emotionally invested in the Mass Effect games and in my Femshep and I am still stunned and in shock over the terrible way this series ended.
I kept waiting throughout the entire scene with The Crucible Kid for my dialogue options. Where was my chance to say 'but look at the love between Jeff and EDI!' or 'Yet the Geth and the Quarians are now living in harmony'.
Where was my 'No! You are WRONG!! We CAN live in peace!!' option??
What did I spend three games as a 100% paragon *proving* not only to myself but to every other race throughout the galaxy?
There is always hope.
There is always a choice.
There can be peace between mankind and the galaxy, between Turian and Krogan, between Quarian and Geth, between man and machine.
But not even getting to *argue* this major and important point at the end ...what was to me the entire *meaning* of the Mass Effect series... just made everything I did feel like a pointless waste of time.
Then insult was added to injury with the silly crash of the Normandy. Why were they leaving? Where did they crash? How can Liara be getting off the Normandy when she was right behind me in London charging towards that beam of light...
And then it hit me. The ultimate analogy has been in front of us the whole time.
As Shepard, I saved the council and led the battle against a Reaper that was sitting on the Citadel in front of millions of witnesses.
Yet the Council did not believe in Shepard.
As Shepard, with my crew standing witness, I found evidence that the Reapers turned the Protheans into the Collectors, that the Reapers were still coming, that they were constructing a human Reaper, and then I destroyed the base and that abomination.
Yet the Council did not believe in Shepard.
Then I united every single race in the galaxy, from the last of the Protheans to the remnants of the Batarians, from the allied forces of Turians and Krogan to the reunited Quarians and Geth. Asari, Volus, Elcor, Salarian, ex-Cerberus, Rachni, Omegan mercenaries...all of them stood by my side as we built the Crucible and brought the battle to the Reapers...
Yet the writers did not believe in Shepard.
Retake Mass Effect.
Long live the Normandy and all who called her home.

Wasn't the chick who voiced buttereverything/dumpster fire Diana Allers part of IGN?
Yeah, clearly they can't say anything bad about ME3.
Even if Diana Allers was... hideous in so many ways.

What REALLY bugs me about all that ending fiasco is not the failed attempt at pseudo philosopy, but just destroying the roleplaying values and replay value of the game.
Many players, including me, have several Shepards they intended to play the game, to see different outcomes of your actions. Now you know, that there are 3 (or colored versions of one) endings for everyone, no matter what you do throughout the trilogy.
I could accept the crappy ending - some writing had to be sub-par, even if it meant the last sequence. But knowing, that it won't differ for my remaining Shepards prevents me from replaying this game right away - something I did with ME2 and ME1.
Of course, you 'see' them throughout the game progress, but you should also see it in the very end. Most video games achieve that with a slideshow I was hoping for. If it was possible to see the direct consequences of your actions, or even read about them - that would be good enough for me. If the Normandy part of the ending would be explained - sure, why not, better to cut it out completely, but still.
You could say, that ME1 had only slightly different endings for all players. You could say the same about ME2. But we played both these games several times, romanced different characters, chose different solutions to the main quests to see all the outcomes in ME3, to see the conclusion, untying the knots. We did not get the first and the most important feature we loved the series for.
