I'm currently playing a MC Tank (Templar / Champion). I always use Wynne, I'll spec her SH/AW, so that is slot #2. I need some good DPS / Crowd Control so I'm thinking Morrigan (Cold Magic) or Barkspawn (AoE Stun & Overwhelm), but I find Morrigan's Shape****er spec such a waste while Barkspawn is useless against Dragons. Last slot should go to a Rogue, for Lockpick / Stealing, so it is Leliana or Zevran, aka very good Melee DPS but needed macromanagement (backstabs) vs decent Ranged DPS with Support buffs & Pets.

What would you recommend? (No need to answer all but if you do, it is appreciated):
- Dog or Morrigan?
- What 2nd spec for Morrigan?
- Should the MC invest one point in Poison if Zevran is the choice (I thinking you just need basic Poison Making to USE all Poisons)?
- If Zevran is the choice, how many points in Lockpick?
- If Leliana is the choice, Arrow of Slaying or Scattershot?

Notes:
- I DON'T have Blood Magic unlocked
- I have Warden's Keep (consider it's gear)
- *points to sig* No mods

well unless you cheat with char respec or talent book on load, leliana doesn't have enough talent points to go melee effectively, so you have to make her an archer if you want devices mastery, and bow dps is very good despite what ppl say, and essential to beat high dragon at lower levels. rapid fire Scattershot and shattershot is more useful than pining shot and arrow of slaying.

Morrigan is fantastic with +cold dmg items and high magic is her plot bonus. She is fabulous for crowd control like paralyze and mass paralyze and already has mind blast so its just 1 point for force field. And only 1 point is wasted in shapeshift. you can make her spirit healer for just 1 point in group heal can help. but mages can use no specialization if you want a pure ranged caster.

Zevran has all his points in being a very good melee but you wont have many points for trap devices left if you recruit him late, so i found myself deciding to put points in his 2nd specialization. But rogues die fast so having archer is safer and leliana can already pick locks with less talents wasted since u get her earlier

If you want melee dps i think ogren is a lot cooler than zevran and you get over 3 plates of armour so warriors have a lot of plate to pick from.

- Dog or Morrigan?

Morrigan, mages rock

- What 2nd spec for Morrigan?

she doesnt need spec, there is a lot of useful spells in game, but you can get blood mage later just for bonuses (and blood wound, which is great aoe CC+dmg + no friendly fire)

- Should the MC invest one point in Poison

No, 1 point is enough to use all poisons

- If Zevran is the choice, how many points in Lockpick?

It depends on his cunning, with 40 CUN you need only 3lvl of devices, with 50 - 2nd lvl etc

- If Leliana is the choice, Arrow of Slaying or Scattershot?

With 2 mages you wont need extra CC that much, AoS can help you taking down mages really fast from great distances and critical shot is nice for shattering frozen targets (same cooldown as CoC)

SH for morry, just give her SH 1 or eventually 2, it will come handly for support

for normal spells, finish her cold line and get at least hex2, grab sleep too and eventually finish the barrier line

then there are many options... you can eventually go for lightning 3 and mana 4 (mana clash and storm of the century) or finish hex line and get death line for entropic death combo and blizzard+death cloud

for leliana personally arrow of slaying

for zav it depends if you want to open chests or not :P of course a build whitout picklock will be always better for pure combat

i would say take the dog, cause the dog is idea for any kind of combat you well face. as for rogue take leliana, one cause i think shes the coolest character in the game:), ans second cuase you well need someone who can unlock chests and traps well, my leliana is a bard/duelist and does insane damage in both range and melee. i have her with arrows of slaying.
