So, here's where I'm at, I've read COUNTLESS threads across the interwebs about how to build a DA:O save or what choices affect that...
I kept my DA:O saves, but DA:O is uninstalled. I installed DAII today, and want to import my saves. What do I actually have to do to accomplish this? Where do I put the DA:O saves? Do I need to upload them to this Origin thing? Or to the Bioware social network or something? I'm pulling my hair out. The users manual says nothing. Everyone just acts like this is an absolutely automatic action, but what do I do? I know it's got to be simple.
Need help importing DA:O Save!

I figured out you have to put the DA:O/A/DLC files in C:\\Users[username]\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Characters\\[character name]\\Saves\\ .

Yes, that's how you do it. Also you might like a gibbed save generator (search the web for one). That will let you create DAO saves for import ONLY with choices you never played- just for the different results in DA2. (some do lead to different quests)
