I have to vote for Tali. The writing for her was simply amazing. I fell in love with her during Mass Effect 1 and used her in every mission. Then to watch her develop as a character and become a LI. Amazing! Just that fact that a character I loved became an LI when I had no expectations of it blew my mind.

Liara, they kind of spoiled those of us who picked her.

Liara....cuz at first she was just the default f/f relationship in ME1 to me. and if there are romance options in a rpg...i go for the F/F ones. Over time, however, I began to really like the character...alot. Once you understand her....even when she gets "overzealous," you know why.

As femshep...i have only romanced one other character...and that was Kaidan during my very first run through ME1...and i didnt know about Liara..and it was only that one time.

Mostly Liara, Tali, and Garrus for me depending on male shep or fem shep and paragon/renegade.

Those 3 will have your back 100% no matter what.

Unless it's the ending, then they get together and sneak off to some other world and leave you to die.

Tali is probably the best romance story. I never did it myself though. I cant stand her voice for some reason, and she could have been a tentacle monster behind the suit.

Ashley is the most realistic. Two people of the same race in close proximity, both from the alliance ext. Also its not some butterfly love story. They actually interact like real people arguing and such.

Miranda is also a decent choice for similar reasons. However shes so headstrong and determined in other directions that make me think its the sort of thing that would never work.

I had a problem with Ashley ever since how they handled her in ME2.  I could understand the distrust and the sense of betrayal, but I *really* did not understand not sticking around long enough to even talk about it for more than 5 seconds.  That just seemed....incredibly unrealistic.  Especially given her sense of duty, and her loyalty to the colonists (that she just watched you try and save while she was helpless), she turns her back on all of it - that was the death of her character to me, and ME3 did not do nearly enough to win me back (they treat her like a second-rate character with the amount of cutscenes available on-ship, at least that I managed to find.  Granted, I had cut it off with her, but still, she turned into a black hole of Cerberus hate with nearly no personality, when she wasn't drunk on the floor)

I didn't like seeing it either.  She pissed me off, but I also understand it.

She is very loyal, very duty oriented.  Shepard is remade, back from the dead, and with Cerberus.  That would spark red flags for just about everyone.

Granted this issue should have been resolved in ME2, but at least it makes sense.

They really didn't give her much treatment in ME3, wont argue there.  I understand it though.  They make you choose Kaiden/Ashley.  That doubles the amount of work Bioware has to do, and pay voice actors, for the same amount of content.

I suppose looking at it from a business perspective allowed me to reason with it, because if I didn't, Id be in the same boat as you.

Well that's not going to happen =P

EDIT: Read the thread title  wrong my bad =\\

I like tali's (seen it on youtube) and in ME2 she has a HUGE crush on Shep you can tell even tho you don't romance. I think Kasumi mentions it sometimes when you talk to her

Garrus all the way!! He was so clumsy in ME2, it was cute! And the romance/character development in ME3 was spot on! Kudos, Bioware! :)

Though, I did like Thane's romance in ME2. It was very sweet. I just wish FemShep and Thane had more "privacy" at the hospital instead of just getting out of their chairs. Talk about awkwaaaard. lol

Garrus. Their relationship was beautiful, natural. I can honestly say it almost made up for the endings.

Tali. Besides Liara she is the most likable female.

Liara is not because it seems to me a bit too much the variant for the older guys.

Liar! You failed her :(

My favorite was Tali. I can't explain it, I was drawn to her in Mass Effect 1...at which point I discovered she was not one of the L.Is in the game near the end. Guess they never expected people to like her?

I've done two endings, one for Liara and one for Tali. I am thinking Garrus will be the third video I make.

Edit: Dammit, didn't mean to double post......

Mine is Tali. The whole trial mission, but particularely the father sequence... my heart melted. From there her nervous come on to Shep was too cute and sealed it for me. Liara is a strong 1b. Many of her moments with Shep are so touching. She's probably the most sensible of all the lady LI's, in terms of quirks.

ya i'm with you on this. Originally my ME2 (since i'm playing on ps3) romance was Miranda then i did another playthrough so I could romance Tali. Was done since then. I like a lot of the women characters in the game but Tali has an innocent sweetness about her. I loved how she reacted when you showed interest in ME2, stammering and stumbling over her words, nervously telling you it's ok if you want to find someone else but it being obvious in her tone that she's desperately hoping you don't want to.

And the scenes in ME3 with her right before the final mission, and the flirtations, were all great. The romance scene and the face reveal was crap though.

That and seeing as how one of her first lines in ME3 is "and by the way, still TOTALLY worth it". I just about spit MT. Dew all over my tv at that. That and her line "I just want more time" was awesome and moving.

Tali. Sweet girl.  Oddly enough I didn't think much of her in ME1, thought she was rather flat as a character, but she won me over in ME2.

I actually don't care much for Liara, of all people. I didn't care much for Jack in 2, but I appreciate her character and depth more since playing 3.

Can't speak for the other half, but I suppose I have kind of a mancrush on Garrus.

Honestly, if I could put a team together, it would be Garrus, Tali, Legion, Mordin, and Wrex.

Jegus, it took way too long for someone to say Garrus!

His was a very sweet romance that did a good job of building on the existing relationship. It felt real, and valid, and intimate on a personal level.

Plus Brandon Keener has the best voice, oh my goodness.

I would replay the games just for this. Then I'll Alt+F4 out of the game after saying my final goodbyes.

Liara of course... In my opinion it's the only worthy of the shepard, a brilliant scientist, a sexy chic, a powerful biotic and also the shadow broker... She doesn't quit on me even when I was dead.

I really wanted a future with Liara... I was commited to the cause and I knew that the trip most likely was only one way... but I rather prefer to that the fact of leaving her was my option and not a desire of a divine figure who allowed my paternal figure to die by TIM's actions.

I frackin' hate the one who ripped of me that choice.. well, at least she's alive, that's important.

Liara, for several reasons.

First off, I absolutely love the way her character development was handled. She begins as a very naive newcomer thrust into a world far out of her comfort zone, and part of the joy of being in a relationship with her is being able to provide some comfort and stability, as well as a more experienced and world-wise perspective on life.

Liara's motivations in the second game make more sense if you were her love interest, as well - she *really* doesn't want to lose Shepard. I was one of the few that didn't think her change was overdone - she's been through a lot, been hurt worse in the last two years than she ever had before in her life, and it's fairly natural to expect a lot of prickly defenses. One of the most heartwarming parts of Shepard's relationship with her is being able to soothe some of those fears and hurts.

Finally, in the third game, we get to see what she has become - an independent, powerful woman with both the wisdom to move smoothly through the world and the innocence to still marvel at the wonders of it all. Looking back on that, and the journey to get there, and knowing that my character helped that along... well, let's just say it brings a smile to my face to see it.

Jack. Her Paragon courtship and following Loyalty mission is perhaps the most emotionally gut-wrenching ride in ME2, at least for me.

Wasn't pleasd with how we said goodbye in ME3.
