I'm a die hard Blueberry. Liara has grown immeasurably over the course of the three games. You can really see the darkness begin to takes it toll on her during some parts of the game, especially her interaction with Javik, and her meltdown after Thessia.

You really only see her let her guard down with you, and its really touching to see this powerful woman become the same cute, naive Archaeologist that you met so many years ago.

And last but not least. Without Liara there would be no ME2 and ME3.

I started from ME1, so it was always Kaidan. Then I strayed with Thane in ME2, and I really liked him too. Ultimately, I went back to Kaidan, because it was this whole arc of falling in love in ME1, going through a period of turmoil ME2 and then working through all that to be back together again in ME3. It was rewarding, and I always liked Kaidan because he was a good guy, heh, stubborn but stable. What happened with Thane was so painful - wish I could have been with him until then and kind of switched over, but that would have been more cheating and possibly ruined things with Kaidan. *wince* Man, I felt guilty about the whole love triangle with them.

Garrus's romance was so great that I don't think I could do any of the other ones. I love the progression from ME1 all the way to ME3. Garrus was by Shepard's side every step of the way.

Kaidan, because of how it evolved in ME1, it felt very organic, even after the whole Horizon thing, I still couldn't bring myself to cheat on him.

In ME 3, I couldn't ever bring EDI along, except when I had to, because she reminded me of Eva Core, who I wanted to vaporize with a Singularity-Warp.
I loved the hospital sequence when Shepard goes "and that's an order." even though it is generic paragon speech.. I think, but that's my opinion.

ManShep: Tali.

FemShep: Garrus.

Why? Because they're both awesome, and they've always been there for Shepard.

My Engineer-MaleShep and my Vanguard-MaleShep both Tali, because well simply love her and the quarians in general.
My femshep (which is about to begin ME2) goes one full Liara run, and one where I'll go with Garrus in 2, because Garrus is the awesome.

Tali. She's just perfect for me. I can't even describe what I feel about her <3 In firs ME I used to romance Liara, but even then Tali was one of my fav characters. And than she was back in ME2 and I clearly got it: she's my type ^^ Tried romancing others (Liara again/Ashley/even Miranda) but just couldn't, always ended up with Tali again :P As for me - she is the best :)

Liara because of her development throughout the entire series. She is one of the only characters to go through a metamorphosis throughout the trilogy. Also she is beautiful and sexy. She is blue damnit!!! She is intelligent on a whole different level. She is one the most important people in the trilogy and she single handedly at one point saves shepard which allows us to keep playing the damn game. She is everything I like in a woman. Independant, smart and sexy, yet sweet and caring.

She has the triple S thing going for her... Sweet, Smart and Sexy.

I honestly cannot play a game where I romance other characters. I literally have to watch youtube to experience other romances.

On my first playthrough of ME2, Tali took me by surprise - even though Liara was the interest from ME1 - for reasons already stated by others in this thread. Get this, though - due to a critical misjudgement that Shepard made, she died during the suicide mission. Especially heartbreaking to admit your true feelings for eachother and then witness her death shortly thereafter.

Garrus hands down. One of the most real feeling romances, which is hella ironic.

I would have said Liara until we got to her homeworld then so much whining. I wanted to me like listen, you know this has been happening to my world for months, while your people sat on the side lines right? Garrus's too, suck it up.

So Ill have to go with Garrus, hes awesome.

Definitely Liara for me. While she wasn't exactly stellar in the first game, I still liked her much more than Ashley, and I absolutely loved her in ME2 and 3. LotSB was just so cinematic and had so much character development for Liara that it just turned me to to putty. And I absolutely loved her romance arc in ME3, though I was hoping for little blue children...

Since I have a real hard time playing Male Shepard, having been spoiled by the Female Shepard voice acting, I've been primarily focused on the female options of which for me Liara was just the most fulfilling. She was my first love interest in ME1. I was totally distraught when she wasn't available in ME 2. I cried myself to sleep every night. Then Lair of the Shadow Broker was released and Bioware dangled sweet tantalizing hope before my mortal eyes for a full rekindling of the love in ME 3 and boy did they deliver! I had countless scenes with her, slowly building from the uncertainty of how to handle Shepard's death and two years of separation, to the final full blown, I love you Shepard, I love you Liara let's have little blue babies ending scene. Sniffle. I WANT MY BLUE BABIES BIOWARE! I don't care if Shepard dies I WANNA SEE BLUE BABIES RUNNING AROUND!

Okay I feel better now. :)

I would like to try Jack though and maybe Miranda in a play through, if you know, I ever play ME 3 again. Hell I'd like to try and bang James Vega too, pity I understand he's not an option! Yes I'm a sick puppy like that :).

Mark Meer has really improved by leaps and bounds.  Mainly because they actually wanted some feelings to be shown.  The default male Shepard's face also shows alot more emotion as well.

My favorite love interests are Miranda, Liara, and then Ashley.

Overall, I loved Mass Effect 3 but the only thing I dislike about it was the ending (mainly the Normandy randomly going to FTL and crashing).

Liara, because...

Exotic alien
Interesting woman, even though she'll outlive my Shep.
Her character starts out viewing Shep as an interesting research subject, but then y'know, pheromones (Javik).
She's blue.
She's the only asari with eyebrows.
She is the most powerful information broker in the galaxy. Who doesn't like a strong woman?
She gave Shep the sweetest gift.

there's more but I'm in no state to list them right now...

Liara. I think she has the best character development over the series. After LotSB I really struggle to do a playthrough where she isn't my LI. The relationship is just awesome in that from the old married couple bickering to the emotional moments plus all the things in Liara's apartment that just made her even more endearing to me. The fact that she seems to have such a pivotal role in the main story adds to it also.

Going with Tali, followed by Liara. Tali has that charm about her. The smart, nerdy type with a naive nature. She's grown a little over the past three games. In the third, the relationship is a bit played out in my opinion but I do like what they did with most of it. She's much more mature in this one.

Liara on the other hand, she really grew on me in ME3. I didn't care for her much in ME1 but the change they made in 2 was amazing. Naive book worm to super PO'ed biotic. ME3 was a nice mix of the two and I found it hard to turn her down in ME3. I thought she was rather cute in ME3.

And for my FemShep runs, Garrus. Come on, he's awesome. How can anyone deny that?

All in all though, still Tali. I would liked it to be noted as well I did this entire post without mentioning her butt.

Tali, through and through. Her awkwardness (for good reason) is endearing.

The endings though, I may replay all three games without a love interest so she can at least be happy with Garrus (one hell of a man.. er Turian).

Kinda strange I know, so attached to a character that when you know you'll die. That you would intentionally not be with them to save them heart ache brought on by Bioware's wonderful writing.

Then again there is always the Renegade option.

Every playthrough I had, I always romanced Liara.
She is simply the most interesting character to me. And romance scene in me3 was pretty epic.
