I know it's doubtful, Would changing your class effect the Resource bonus at all?
Resources:
Ezo: 156,242
Iridium: 694,206
Platinum: 514,394
Palladium: 545,777
- All Clusters explored (100%)
- Launched atlease two Probes on every Planet.
Results: Gained 25 War Assets

Anything's possible.
I'm honestly thinking the amount before collector base is counted.
Only thing I can think of.
An official explanation would be great.

I 100% everything in ME1 along with the collectibles(all my characters).
I collected most of my resources after I destroyed the base. My one Character got the 100 War Asset and my other character didn't. They had very close resource before and after destroying the base.
I don't think we will know what triggers the 100 War Asset until someone at BioWare comments.

Only real difference I found between the imports. I'll know more when I finish the ME2 runs of the other five classes and import them.

I'm lost as to how the game checks.
I've imported 5 different saves with levels of excess resources ranging from 50k to 999k.
All of them got 25 war assets.
The only common denominator is that most resources were gathered post collector base/post arrival.

I had very similar resources going in and post Collector Base. One character got the 100 War Assets, The other one didn't.

I checked the Mass Effect Wiki and they say it's a bug.
Still no official word?

Might not get any kind of word until the first Patch is out if it's a Bug.

Import two characters with exactly the same Resources. One got 25 and the other got the 100 War Assets. The Import tool is defiantly Bugged.
No kidding. In one import Kelly was not in the game and all my fish were gone altough she survived the Collector Base.

That's not a bug. Kelly Only Shows up if you had dinner with her.

This is now an old thread. Is their any update on how this works? Do we now know what triggers the 100 point bonus?

Just a report.
Well I did get the 100 point bonus. I did almost all of my planet scanning early in the game. I think before Horizon actually. I just wanted to get it done. I collected something in the neighborhood of 300K for everything and about 32K of ezero. I then used a lot of that for upgrades. I completed the game with the following (that is this is what I had before triggering the Suicide mission:
Palladium 159,536
Iridium 181,687
Platinum 133,770
Element Zero 20,630
Credits 65,236
I really didn't keep track of the planets and systems. I did deplete a number of planets and thoroughly explored 5 or 6. Most I never touched. So whatever I did worked.
oh, and I don't know if it is important, but I completed all the collections in ME1.
Addendum: Does anyone know if BioWare ever explained this?

I only got the 100 war assets once. That was gathering all the minerals in ME1 and having over 100 000 of each mineral in ME2. I repeated it a second time and didn't get the 100 war assets. I ended up with 25.
I have tried several different ways to get the 100 war assets by following what others have done with no luck. To me its bugged.
As far as I know, no one from BioWare has mentioned anything about it.

It was figured out after a massive group effort on GameFAQS a couple of years ago.
1. You need to complete all the ME1 material fetch quests.
2. You need to have 100k of each mineral in ME2 BEFORE you launch the suicide mission. Not having 100K of each material until after the suicide mission can still work, but this tends to bug out a lot of the time, so it's best to collect the materials before going to the Suicide Mission.
Follow these two steps and you'll get your 100 WA's, though tbh after all the WA's that were added by the ME3 DLC's it's honestly not worth your time doing all this. I'm happy with the 10/25 WA's I get these days, mining planets and doing the fetch quests is boring.

I did read somewhere that if you modify a save file to get a ridiculously high amount of resources you won't get the 100 WA bonus.

Yeah, modifying resource amounts was one of the very first things that people tried, but when they imported to ME3 they only got 10/25 WA's instead of the full 100. You have to do everything properly and naturally to get the full bonus.

Well as I said I completed all the mineral quests in ME1 and I had over 100K of the minerals in ME2 with the exception of EZero.which was just over 20K. That seems to be the key.
