I bought a copy of DA:O on XBox for a friend of mine and we're having the oddest problem.  No matter what we do, we can't find an option to log in to the Bioware server.  We weren't prompted when we first ran the game and the "Press Y to Log In" option isn't present on the main menu.  Pressing Y does nothing.  He's connected to Live and has a Gold account, so that doesn't seem to be the issue.

I've been playing DA:O on the PC since launch day and my wife has been playing on the PS3 without a hitch.  Any ideas?

Was his gamertag already attached to an EA account from a previous game?

That's a good question. I'm guessing the answer is probably yes, but I'll find out. Thanks!
