That scene made me feel worse than that time in ME2 where I chose the Renegade ending to Tali's loyalty misson because I wanted ot see what would happen. And that scene was heartbreaking, which makes this......hm, there isn't a smiley for balling your eyes out.

Grunt finds himself in a stare-down with one of these damn Earth dogs. Shepard wants to teach him some form of responsibility, and when Wrex laughed at the idea, Shepard took action. Of course, Grunt would pick the one dog that wasn’t wagging it’s tail, begging to be picked up and coddled and loved. He picked the one dog with enough attitude to snort and turn it’s back on a Krogan— a Krogan.

Grunt musters up all of his Krogan ingenuity and creativity and names the English Bulldog after the one thing that would stand up to a Krogan- Shepard.

I only just found this thread and I swear to gods, I have to say it,
"I am Major Seraphaen Tharys, and this is my favourite thread on BSN."
A bit of clarification, I am 32, a woman, have a boyfriend who just started playing ME1 for the first time, and three stepkids. The younger of my two stepdaughters, Jaella, who is 10, has watched me play since my first playthroughs. (I've literally replayed the ENTIRE series 7-8 times) and I have a LOT of multiplayer hours. She watches the timers, tells me where objectives are, and let's me know if I missed an enemy and I am about to be flanked. She was there for the first time we saw Mordin sing, and when he perished in the Shroud (and we cried), we watched as I managed to use my very high paragon score to secure peace with the Quarians and Geth, and BAWLED when Legion sacrificed himself, and I had to quit playing for a day or two after watching Kolyat pray over his father. When Grunt went over the cliff, I literally got up and screamed in rage, only to cry tears of joy when he stumbled into the arms of my femshep, asking if anyone had anything to eat, and wished I could have had Kal'Reegar for a teammate. This thread is such awesome.

I am excited because with the first 7-8 playthroughs, I never had the ME2 DLC, and I JUST got it, and now I can see how it will effect this playthrough. I was angry and raged when I died the first time at the end of ME3 (because I didn't do any multiplayer) because I felt like I had betrayed Mordin, Kal'Reegar, Thane, Kirrahe, Legion, Tarquin, Anderson and the rest. Still saved the galaxy.

Mal Reynolds: "Looks like we got here just in time. What does that make us?"
Zoe: "Big damn heroes, sir."
Mal: "Ain't we just?"

We were all mad about the ending, but regardless, Bioware can seriously write deep, compelling, endearing characters that get into our hearts. All of these guys went out like big damn heroes.
