Think I know why the majority disliked the ending, It wouldve taken so little to satisfy most people.

I thought about it , and this is all they had to do to appease me personally:

1) Proper epilogue explaining what happened to all the crew and the races
2) Proper explanation to the reapers
3) An end boss
4) Shepard + Love interest together. Either peaceful fall asleep in bed on saved earth, or tragic romantic kissing eachother while being gunned down by reapers.

Bioware dont seem to realize its not that its a tragic ending that is the problem but the complete lack of basic elements that should be mandatory. Like ... just basic closure as having an epilogue to each crewmember and race. Just some damn NON-VAGUE explanation for the reapers. A proper battle with harbinger (Because yes, it IS personal). Thats it. Its no magic recipe.

You guys in the same boat? Isnt these basic and simple elements all we wanted?

(Though I am a part of the indoctrinated Shepard theory people, this is my feelings IF the end as it is now stands as is)

3 is dumb, no one needed an end boss. So mainstream, unnecessary.

And I've noticed a few people who don't like the endings because they're too dark, not because of other reasons.

I'd be more than happy with just 1 & 2. 3 doesn't bother me, 4 I wouldn't mind, but I don't need it.

All in all I think the first 2 are what we all want, and 3 and 4 are just potential bonuses we can take or leave.

Super happy ending would also be a potential bonus but I don't think it's needed, most of us saw the writing on the wall for Shepard before the game came out I think.

I have to agree that an end boss isnt that important. (For me atleast).

What is easy to make, and lazy to leave out - and absolutely frustrating is being deprived of the answers to who made the reapers, how things turned out for the races/people important to you etc.

I love dark endings myself. I'm as anti-hollywood-ending as you can get. But I didnt hate the ending because it wasnt dark enough. But because all the answers I was looking for? got none of them. Basic information and a normal epilogue was my main demand.

I would have been perfectly happy with Shepard dieing right there sitting next to Anderson, watching the destruction of the reapers, and then something to tell us what happened to all of our friends and acquaintances.

My thought's exactly, though no need for 3) here.

But I also was disappointed to get no further answers regarding the Reapers and the cycle. Where did they came from and why? That is why the ending isn't bad but disappointing.

Besides the fact that not a single decision matters and that the outro-movies look too similar.

BioWare will not do a "Lost" and leave fans with more questions than answers after finishing the game.

Funny... cause I have more questions than answers atm -.-

While i too hate the endings it really wouldnt take much on Biowares part to make them satisfactory. Loose the Normandy fleeing/crash scene for one. Then simpley add a series of in game rendered cutscenes at the end that show the fates of key characters and the galaxy in general. Base which scenes play on the chosen ending and paragon/renegade choices. They dont even need to add dialogue, just have the scenes play out with suitable music playing, it worked for the majority of all the star wars films

3 is entirely unnecessary, but the first 2 are utterly valid necessities, and 4 is a very reasonable desire. Too bad everything they delivered was nothing that an ending needs.

The biggest issue is that players were cheated... BioWare toted from the start, that our decisions would matter, they did not...

Everything we did over 150+ hours of gameplay, if playing the full Trilogy were negated in a matter of moments by 3 generic, uninspired and simply crappy choices...

For a game with such a fantastic plot, over the course of 3 consecutive games, BioWare dropped the ball hard with this ending...

It would have been preferable for the Reapers to still win, but you earn the galaxy a reprieve for a small time if you made the right choices, than to pretty much destroy all galactic civilisation in order to save it without your choices counting a damn... It was just a bad ending that needs to be addressed...
