I looked around but I was wondering how long do I need to play multiplayer for so I can get the perfect ending on single player I am a bit fussy and when I heard you need to play multiplayer to get the perfect ending for single player I was a bit upset but multiplayer is okay I find it fun but something I can't play for hours and hours well I can but sick of people failing on gold if I had decent players would love to farm gold runs so I was wondering is there another thread that explains everything? My questions are as following:

What does promote do?

How long do I need to keep playing multiplayer for to get the perfect ending?

I am just confused on what I need to do to get the perfect ending thank you very much everyone all your replies and feedback are highly appreciated I look forward to reading what you guys have to say thank you!

Always keen to play with decent players zazally is my origin ID.

Your Effective Military Strength is what determines the ending. I think it needed to be 5k or more to get the best ending.

Playing multiplayer raises your readiness. Readiness is basically what % of your war assets are converted into EMS. It starts at 50% and can go up to 100%. The answer really depends on what your war assets are at.

Promoting a unit gives you 75 war assets and 10 N7 ranks.

You should be able to get the "perfect" ending by making sure you do every side quest in single player.

- Promoting your level 20 character in MP resets the class to level 1 and adds that character as an N7 Special Operative War Asset worth 75 points

If you don't want to do all [or miss some] of the side quests then I would think you just need to get your Galactic Readiness [the MP stat that starts out at 50% for everyone] to 100% so that every war asset you achieve in SP mode counts as full [the formula is War Assets * Galactic Readiness = Overall Military Strength/Readiness - so say you have 3000 War Assets and 50% Galactic Readiness, your overall Military Strength would be 1500 [3000 * 0.50 = 1500]..

Obviously adding N7 Spec Ops assets via promoting helps out your overall SP War Assets score, but you shouldn't feel compelled to play MP just to get a "perfect" ending.
