I think a good portion of closure through DLC will be a fitting end to Shepard as the main lifeblood of mass effect. We're more likely to see him in the future in an Anderson/Hackett capacity when BW turns Mass Effect into an MMO

I don't know. I feel such a lack of closure as far as Shepard goes that at this point a big part of me says that I DO want Shepard in ME4. But maybe I would feel differently if they gave me an ending that I could live with.

There's a part of me that can't imagine ME without her.

I wanted ME3 to end Shepards story. I thought it was the right move. I dont want my Shepard in battle forever. He deserved to retire and rest with his LI for the rest of his life. I was ready for it plus I WAS looking forward to see what bioware does with a whole new cast and storyline.

But now I dont even want a new Mass Effect until they decide to fix ME3's ending.

But Mass Effect 3 has really killed my enthusiasm for the series as a whole... And Mass Effect without Garrus is a little hard to imagine.

Can't say it will be Mass Effect "4", but Mr Muzyka stated in his message to the unsatisfied fran that will there will be more contant and full game for the Mass Effect franchise in the future.

I wouldn't mind if Shepard doesn't return. All I want is a template, to create my own character and to go on a personal adventure. I can enjoy a game without the face of the franchise, especially when you have the option to customize your character. I also enjoyed Halo ODST and Reach just fine without the Master Chief.

The problem is the Bioware rushed the ending of Shepard's story. They could have made seven games out of the war with the reapers. Earth and Mars, Palaven, Tuchanka, Thessia - these could have all been their own games.

You have to make the love last, take it slow. They ruined it.

I'd rather see a new band of new characters in the future of the ME series. I'm not fond of prequels as they are done too damn much. A lot of the time they are plain terrible.

I could give 2 poops about Shep. I care about the Mass Effect setting. To bad they screwed up any potential for the setting to live thanks to the blue, red, and green endings.

a new ME game that reads your save files. So if you picked destroy since we know shepard lives.

My thought for reading the save file is he could be an NPC with who ever was romanced. So if the LI was Tali you could go visit them on Rannoch, if Liara on Thessia, etc.

Especially if its Shep/Tali could have an intresting quest to find their kid off on pilgramage(if it remains tradition even though they have a planet now.)

I don't require a Shepard to enjoy the Mass Effect universe. That would be like saying you need Kirk to enjoy Star Trek.

No we don't! Unless it's Mass Effect 4 - Beach Volleyball, and you and your squadmates are relaxing on a nice beach somewhere playing a series of vacation style minigames.

EDIT:
As far as I'm concerned, the Mass Effect franchise will either end at the end of 3, or somewhere just before the end depending on how this whole situation goes.

For me, Mass Effect without Shepard (Garrus / Liara / Tali) would be like Nightwish without Tarja... and the band sucks since they broke up with Tarja...

On the other hand: no new satisfying ME3 ending(s!!!) = No ME4 purchase...
