That we know for... what? Five years? Six? Nothing new exactly.
I'd welcome to see the old guy again, maybe in prequel. But for now, Shepard did enough. He deserves some rest (or to rest, depending on the choice)
Or someone new, during the FCW. There are so many possibilities.

No shepard for me, I just hate those immortal heroes that just keep coming back forever and ever. Just get on my nerves. ME3 was the last of Shepard for me. I don't want him anymore. If other ME there is, I would like a new hero. I would like this hero to be customizable. Race and all. Would be nice to actually have the choice of his race. Wouldn't it be nice to play as a Krogan? Or hanmar. If in the future, it would be nice to hear about Shepard's story, see some familiar faces, some characters and places from the trilogy. If shepard comes back other than as a NPC or a (I'm commander shepard and this is my favorite store in the citadel).
Volus ftw dude, they would make awesome rambos

We'll see the same thing that we saw in Halo series.
We'll get new triology with shepard but from different company.
Be reasonable, ME universe is money machine, and no way EA will let this go.
And stop saying 'noooo BW is the best etc. etc.' people were saying same thing to Bungie in the end they're done with Halo and now someone else making it, and nobody seems to care since their favorite 'master chief' is coming back.

Believe me, I love the guy. But take a look at the Halo franchise. Bungie was able to tell the story of Master Chief in three games and it was great. They said they were done with his story but would continue to explore that universe and it worked out! Now, Chief's being bastardized and brought back as a cash cow, and while the idea of Halo 4 is admittedly exciting, (and will inevitably do really really well financially) it's kind of like... really? The guy saved us all, what else does he need to do? And I would hate to see Shepard meet that same fate. It really cheapens the initial adventure.

Mass Effect 4? We literally just received ME3, and we're already making demands for a fourth? Bioware made it pretty clear that they were done with Shepard, and I think they should be. I think Shepard deserves a much better ending to his (or her, forgive me as my main Shep is male) story, but regardless still needs a break. I mean, what else does he need to do? Shepard prevented the Reapers from destroying the galaxy. Maybe he's dead, maybe he's alive, maybe the galaxy is doomed anyway, but let the guy relax in his pile of rubble! I'm not sure where else they could go within this universe (especially considering recent happenings) but the last thing we need is for Shepard to become some redundant protector of the universe.

There's plenty of places they could go with the universe. The Turians, Salarians, Asari, etc. don't stop being interesting just because Shepard isn't around anymore. The lore doesn't depend on Shepard.
I realize that people have grown attached to him, and that's a good thing, but to say that the universe is nothing without him just is failing to think creatively. Plenty of good stories to be told.

Are they going call Mass Effect 4, ME 4 or are they going to give it a new title with mass effect in it..thats what I wonder.
I would make a joke about how they'd probably name it Mass Effect: Revelations because every other game franchise is doing that these days... but I'd be late to the party, since they already did that with a book.
People really gotta stop using that subtitle.

Eventually Shep will come back. Maybe in Reaper-god form, maybe survived after destroyed reapers, maybe repurposed in someone else's body.
Sounds absurd i know, but we have these finals here, it shouldnt be more absurd than these ones.
Like i said, eventually, he/she'll come back with same BW or different company.
But we need DLC ending first, of course

The Mass Effect universe is too large and comprehensive to not command for a sequel.

And Mass Effect is no Discworld.
I want something new and fresh. I don't want to end up with some new Commander JOEWHATSITS who has to explore Andromeda to prevent the invasion of the beings of light into the Milky Way. The true enemy the Reapers were created to stop and the kid was only lying. See him with his sidekick Monty, the first Pyjack Spectre, as he teams up with a Fuschia alien woman to save two galaxies!

I was moreso referring to the "galaxy in shambles" ending making me unsure of where they could go next in the ME universe, not because Shepard wouldn't be involved. Beleive me, I'm all for this being Shep's finale.
I suppose you could go back rather than forward in the ME universe. A game based around the Protheans, their attempt to control the galaxy and war with the Reapers could be great. We could perhaps play as Javik. Of course, we'd know that we could never actually save the Protheans, but (and forgive me for going back to this again!) Halo: Reach also had that inevitable conclusion and it didn't take away from the gameplay. Although, with this being the end of Shepard's story, it might also be nice to not see any Reapers in the next game/series.

You don't need Reapers. The Reapers drove the theme of organics vs. synthetics, and that's a great theme, but there's plenty of other possibilities.

I don't even want more Mass Effect games. Nothing good comes from franchises getting stretched out like that. Long running comic books are a continuity mess without exception. Long running game turn to rehash. Large book series end up being too many cooks and can never decide what tone or theme the franchise is supposed to have, with only one beneficial exception, Discworld.
And Mass Effect is no Discworld.
I want something new and fresh. I don't want to end up with some new Commander JOEWHATSITS who has to explore Andromeda to prevent the invasion of the beings of light into the Milky Way. A good story, unlike a bad story, knows when to end.

I love Discworld, but there's no reason that the Mass Effect universe can't be that long-running.
And come on, that scenario you described is just ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous.
