I almost think that there could be something to this indoctrination theory even if that would be incredibly cruel of bioware to put us through this miserable ending just to pull us up and say; oh well, that was weird, but it was all a dream so... off you go!
If there will not be a DLC that gives us alternative endings then I will pretend that that's what the endings were, just bad dreams. Very bad dreams.

No Shepard no Mass Effect for me. I tried it with no Warden in DA2, didn't work then doesn't work now.
No FemShep and no Liara = no more Mass Effect for me
The whole idea of a trilogy it's a set of three games with a beginning, a climax and an ending which envolves every single story aspect.
And serioulsy, after this ending, I don't want to buy any Bioware/EA games anymore... not even a Dragon Age 3 with the warden, Morrigan and two archdemons.

Liara could be in the game; Asari live up to 1000 years or something like that. Making my "Shepards Son" for next game more relevant.

Can't have a son with an Asari!

Well title says it all, Bioware should stop noobing out and bring Shepard and the core companions back in ME4.
I dont understand why Bioware wants to stop the Shepard story in Mass Effect, they should make it so that Shepard IS Bioware just like Master Chief IS Xbox.
Lets be honost for a moment, most of us (if not all of us) want Shepard to continue his Legacy as the main character in future Mass Effect games, and we want to see the core companions back aswell.
So Bioware, stop trying to make things a hell of a lot more complicated and keep it simple... Gives us Shepard and his team back in future Mass Effect Games! That way you keep everyone happy AND you make alot more money... It really is that simple...
P.S Im not english and im trying my best to word what im thinking, sorry if i messed it up a bit
I don't think you even need to ask man. All you need to do is look to the Halo franchise. Hell, ME3 even tried to pull a Halo 3 ending... although it screwed up horribly. So I think you don't even need to ask, this is exactly what they will do for Mass Effect 4.

According to what I've read at one point it was possible to leave Liara for dead on Thessia but they took that out, why you might ask? Because they don't want to Leliana her.

If a Krogan and an Asari can have a kid, why cant Shep and Liara? Might look like an Asari tho..
Plastic Surgery? lol

The emphasis is focused on the word "son." Believe me when I say, Mass Effect isn't complete until I see little blue children. But of course they will all be daughters, at least from a human perspective.

When I say Femshep and Liara I talk of them as a single entity... You can have Mass Effect 4 with Shepard's daughter (it's an asari)... but she IT IS NOT Shepard and she can`t romance Liara.... that would be just sick and will ruin for good the entire franchise.
So, no more Mass Effect for me.

They could bring in "Shepards son" after he smashed his LI in ME3; Or some other decendent like great grandson or something..
The majority of sheps LI are sterile/incompatible with humans genetics. You'd have better luck hoping for a clone.

I'm perfectly fine with Shepard dying in ME3, living past that would simply be a life in the shadow of your own past.
That said, the way they chose to end Shepard's tale was mind-numbingly awful.
But no, Shepard doesn't *need* to be in any future ME content, and that's fine. They just need to change the ending is all

I fine with future ME games not having Shepard, the universe is too big to explore with only one character, especially over any sustained period of time. There's so much more to explore in the game universe that Shepard just isn't, and doesn't need to be, a part of.

They didnt end Shepards story, the guy isnt dead meaning Shepards story isnt over just yet.
But im sticking to what i said at the start of this post, i prefer seeing more of the Mass Effect Universe through the eyes of Shepard, i enjoy stories about heroes like Shepard and im a sucker for happy endings
So once more make ME4 with Shepard being the main character, Mass Effect wouldnt be the same without him and his team. The magic of this game wouldnt be there without our undying hero

i love shepard, i love the crew, i love the characters of the mass effect trilogy. i'd love for a new ending for ME3.
but if theres a ME4, i don't want it to be with shepard and crew. i want an entirely new cast, i want new story threads.
my time playing as commander shepard is something ill never forget, but i'd love ME4 to be in the mass effect universe ive grown to love. but i want a new perspective. maybe as a team traveling the galaxy helping with the aftermath of the reaper conflict. maybe a crew of scumbags doing odd jobs (ala firefly) then get pulled into something bigger than themselves. whatever.
but i'm 100% fine with letting shepard retire. dudes had a rough life. leave him alone lol

I don't want a new ME game at all. I want a new franchise.
if bioware is good at one thing, its creating new IPs and universes.
the mass effect universe is one of my favorite sci-fi settings, its so interesting and diverse. full of lore and backstory.
the dragon age universe is one of my favorite fantasy settings, its so interesting and diverse. full of lore and backstory.
bioware is actually REALLY good about creating new settings for games. so i'd be happy seeing something entirely new from them.
