i agree! bring shepard back, if not for 1 game then maybe for another trilogy, but then... when shepard does "Retire" give us a happy ending (or optional happy ending like ME2) we've invested SO much time (of our lives, where applicable) in shepard that we don't want a whole where mass effect sits!
if shepard was a faceless voiceless hero sure... kill them off
BUT since shepard isn't facless or voiceless you need to give us a happy ending that if not mandatory then optional!
We (i) want Shepard back in ME4!!!

I'd rather have an enjoyable ending to ME3 and then a fresh start and new characters for ME4.
Let's not ask Bioware to be Capcom and beat their characters to death.

Guys, I don't know about you, but as far as I know, this series was supposed to be 3 games, so there's not going to be a ME4...

honestly I'm fine with shep not coming back, as long as they FIX ME3!!!!!!!! If we get a proper ending, with closure to all characters and shep, then it would be more logical to start a whole new story with new characters in ME4.....again fix ME3 first!!!!!!!!

I dont mind that Shepard dies.
Would I like a happy Shepard Lives ending? Yes.
Do I absolutely want one? No.
Shepard's story is done (and rightly so) he/she has done more than anyone can be asked to do in defence of the Galaxy.
Let him/her rest.
He/she deserves it.

Let shepard's story end with ME3, that was always the plan. ME's universe is too large to be restricted to a single character.
The only thing we need is a *real* ending to ME3.
Any future ME games should be fine without Shepard as long as that gets fixed.

For those of you that say Shepard "dies" in the ending where he "gasps":
1. A gasp is when you inhale as a sense of shock or when regaining consciousness (you ever wake up from a nightmare, gasping for air?)
If Shep were dead, the air would leave his lungs. He would exhale. Not inhale. Notice his chest gets bigger because he's taking in air.
2. The official strategy guide states in direct and simple terms, if you choose "Destroy" and have an EMS of above 4000, Shepard LIVES....
....that's all the evidence I need

If they ended ME3 properly and filled in the gaps, I am completely happy with this being the end of his story, they have, from the start always said it was going to be the end of his tale. Mass Effect has other opportunities, they will have to avoid keeping it too close to the original story time period but there is the option to move on.
The risk that keeping the story going with Shep is that you over-use the character and cause more harm then good.
My brother and I were talking about the future game possibilities and concidered a DA:O start (allowing other races for the PC, etc) and taking them on a story, it would be fun. Shep just wants to be able to retire, so let him/her.

First, i want them to fix the ending of ME3. Then, no i don't want to see Shepard return in ME4. The absolute top i would like is to have a reference to her as a savior of the galaxy, but not anymore than that. Let Shep live out her days with Garrus or something like that. Let someone else be the protagonist of the next story. with me hoping that we won't be forced to play a human.

No. Just no. Let the story arc end reasonably. Not dragged out.

As a thought, what would you guys think of a mass effect prequel, with our sheps still, but chronicalling his journey from his background, through to his psycological profile and from there to the n7 program and doing some major shep stuff to be considered for spectre status. So my shep would start off on a starship, do some stuff, before just about surviving on akuze. Maybe all the psych parts could link some how as well. im pretty sure war hero and ruthless do (the siege of torfan was retaliation for the skyllian blitz) What about then? I think that would be ace, as then people such as sheps mother, cpl toombs, the criminal gang shep hung out with, the tragedy on mindoir and many others would be looked at closely

No. New character. I do want to see more post game ME3 content but ME4 needs to have a different character. Plus don't even try and import player choices, take a default set that will provide the most interesting world to write more stories in.

I want my trilogy to end the right way, or at least a better way, and then I want to put Shepard to bed. An ME4 would just be milking the cash-cow.

Dear god no.
The fact is that for every franchise there WILL be stagnation. I'd rather have my Shepard story be over before that happens.
And no, the endings were not a signal of stagnation.

I don't know, This was Shepard's story. Once the reapers is gone, in one way or the other, he should be able to retire... Unless he died...

Retour en haut
