I've heard people talk about using Singularity to set up combos on tougher enemies, but it was my understanding that Singularity only works as a combo if it actually lifts the enemy (as in, they have no shields/barrier/armor)?
Am I incorrect? Will placing a Singularity near a protected enemy and then following with Warp (or vice-versa) work if the enemy has armor? Will an explosion occur?

It only works if they are lifted. Singularity is great against the guys with the shields. Once they are lifted hit them with warp and they die quickly.

Except you have to drain the shields first before they'll be lifted.
