Just because you were not satisfied with the product you purchased before does not entitle you to get their next product for free. You don't like it, don't buy it but don't think anyone is somehow entitled to a free service now.

But no, they were stupid. This is the outcome of that decision.

I'm wondering the same thing.Veggiesofmanycolors wrote...
Why should it be free? Developing a product requires time and resources which in turn require money. Gaming is not charity, this is a business and they're entitled to sell what they work for.
Ideally it would be free to win back some of the fanbase, but realistically they'd have to cover the costs of rehiring all of the voice actors, programming a different ending for several weeks/months, possibly composing new music, playtesting, preparing it all for Xbox patches (which cost money), etc etc.
If they went ahead and just did a Fallout-esque '...and the Krogans went on to become the best ballerinas in the galaxy' slideshow, people would probably be still underwhelmed by that ending too - so if they going to revise it, they'd probably want to go the whole way, and I doubt that they're too willing to dip into their profits for that.

If it's crap, don't buy it. Simple as that. Bioware doesn't owe you anything though. I work as a personal trainer and every now and then a client won't like the session I give them but like Hell am I going to give them a free session just because they complain.

Im just stating my opinion that DLC with endings COULD (just a possibility) have impact on future meaning of DLC. I mean some time ago this additional continent was free, until publishers/developers figured out that we want it enough so we would buy it. What if next year games will be sold totally torn apart,in me3 case beginning/middle/end for like 2 $, then each squadmate for 2 $ and then weapons/upgrades in packs for 1-2 $. sounds like some crazy-ass-evil-EA theory, but damn, after these controversies with ME3 day-one DLC and basically stuff surrounding ME3, i dont know what to think anymore.
Don't think that that much effort would be worth the additional turnover.

EA: Dammit, they found out. Reaper voice - Assuming Control!

Simples. Customers are angry, and if it takes free DLC to placate fans then that's what they'll do (and bill it to the PR account)Why should it be free?
Note that BW also makes free iPad apps, free BW pulse videos and free desktop backgrounds. Further, they run these forums for free - none of this will result in extra ME3 sales but will keep the fans interested.

It doesn't matter if you're a "true fan" or whatever. What matters is if you are willing to spend money for something you consider to be better. Same principle applies to sequels or new IP's.

That's not good business. Good business does not just look at todays profits, it looks towards tomorrow.
But its EA, so bad business is the expectation. Bring it on, I'll buy it. $10? $20? $100? After 5 years of investment they can destroy my wallet as much as they want if it means I get closure. Then I'll really put my money where my mouth is by cutting myself of from their loyal fanbase. For good. Never give them another dime. This is coming from somebody who has been the utmost Bioware loyalist since Kotor. I even defended them after DA2 when most did not. But this would just be too much. The final strike that takes them out of the game for me.
Or, they can give us a real epilogue with satisfying closure free of additional charge as we all expected and paid for when we bought the game in the first place, and then look forward to continue doing business with me in the future.
Now heres your big final choice Bioware, the franchise has all come down to this moment, this one decision that succeeds all others you've made. Through the door to your right, you can mend this wound. Fix what you broke and set things right again. The door to your left, you can take this opportunity to take more money out of our pockets, dangling what we want the most in front of our noses. Looks appealing, doesn't it? You can control us, but for how long? Will the deceit and the greed last forever? Do you know? Now... there is a third option. Do what you have always done, do what you do best, ignore us. Walk straight on ahead without wavering, without even nodding our way. If we stand in front of you, hand us a convenient lie to make us step aside. It always worked before. With worried looks upon our faces we put our trust that you will do whats right despite the lies and the silence. Do you take that gamble and try it one more time with the largest stakes you've ever played?

And I definitly wouldnt buy ending dlc. That **** needs to be free. They really really really messed up mass effect with that one. Also if bioware wants to lose the whole "im going to nickle and dime you for ****ing everything" perception that they have nowadays they better release this for free. They may have a bigger backlash if it comes out and it isnt free then they do right now.

Why was it not included in the maingame?
Because right now, we're all sitting ducks here, creating any kind of theories, just because there was no real "ending". Waiting for this end will be a completely different experience when playing it, instead of having that end outright.
One point that's against all this theory though- We can't save after we destroyed the conduit, so we'd have to play it again. (though it would also give -everyone- the chance to get the real ending)

After looking at the evidence on youtube, and my first impression of the ending, I think the dream-indoctrination theory is true. And I think that DLC is coming to verify it. If we are correct, and an explanation is coming in the release of DLC to clarify things… this makes me feel like I paid $60 for an incomplete game. I won’t be paying for DLC that should have been in the game.
