Why is there so much concern/interest regarding if something was/is a hallucination?

All three endings involve the destruction of galactic society as we knew it. Honestly, if this is just a shoe in to keep the franchise going - and don't even get me started on that if it was - it was an incredibly poor one.

I would ask if there were any Lost or Sopranos fans here that can speak to an ambiguous ending.

That's the problem. We were specifically told they were not going to pull a Lost. There's nothing deep with the endings; they're just trash.

Simple, if the indoctrination theory, (or the ID Theory) is true, then there will be DLC, or a continuance of the series. By holding onto the hope that this was planned by bioware, (Which is very possible, look at the release date in Japan, then two weeks later it's april fools day. I'd like to believe they did this on purpose.) We hold onto the hope that there will be a more conclusive ending.

People just want an ending that wasn't as terrible as this one. If it just a dream then bioware can start over and give people the closure they deserve.

Its a crappy situation though. Even if they make a hallucination they have still failed. Someone wrote this earlier and I thought it was perfect.

"First, even if the Indoctrination/Hallucination theory is correct, it is far too ambiguous on its own. The fact that it took a time and the collective work of many fans to make it fit in properly suggests that, if it is the truth, it was not presented well enough to be entirely convincing - save for those clutching at straws. This is poor story-telling."

I don't know. I just, don't know.

Looking at if from different perspectives, I can see how these endings can be interpreted as a middle ground between Lost and Sopranos. You are left questioning and wondering. You don't get the walking into the bright light nor do you ge the cutting to black. Instead you get the feeling of its unknown.

I think many people wanted a firm end. Closure. This did not give a firm end or closure yet, looking at it from the perspective of an ending where the player can fill in the parts they want, the ambigty allows for it.

Yet, as I said. I don't know. I wish a writer would come and clarify. Otherwise, it's ambiguous.
