That said, I didn't care for Javik. Maybe he's got a right to be angry, but he pretty much confirms that the Protheans were a bunch of conquering imperialist douchebags that deserved to be melted into reaper goo. Sad but true.
I like to imagine Hanar dropping their religion in droves after Javik appears.
"Dear faithful. This one has learned the Enkindlers were ***holes who probably would have forced us to make their Nikes for them. This one quits. This one can't believe he wasted my life on this crap."

Did you see him on the citadel? He talks with a Hanar.

Secondly, the closest he got to one of his own kind was a hologram.
The whole point of him was to speak the true nature of his species, good overall intention, bad execution of peace.

Javik's attitude and outlook makes a
lot of sense. When he was born his people were already fighting and
losing to the reapers and he had witnessed the end of his civilization
thanks to the reapers. His whole existance has been defined by the
reapers. His life has been forged by a losing war.
Except his entire culture is one of domination and conquest. If it weren't for the reapers they'd have been the biggest bad in the universe. Heck, the game could have been about fighting /them/ instead of the reapers.

He came to terms with the fact he was the last of his people pretty quickly and managed having Liara on his back quite well.
Even gave her an inspirational speech to calm her down after Thessia.

I think that was the entire point of him being there. Also there would be a deficit in the unrepentant hate category if he wasn't around.

Then the reality comes into play, and you realize that the Protheans ruled the galaxy with an iron fist, and were in essence the ultimate result of evolution taken to extremes. I quite enjoyed that. The last thing I needed was another "YAY SHEPARD HURRAH LETS SAVE THE GALAXY!" teammate.
And sure, the primitive status of the races was 50000 years ago, but to Javik that was just a few days.

Then again, I also haven't progressed very far in the story so I have to see how his character develops.

I was really excited about the idea of a Prothean squadmate but soon his personality just became unbearable. He looked cool and had some decent attacks but the way he treated my fellow squadmates as well as his snobbish demeanor got on my nerves.
He would go on and on about how other races are primitives. Look jackass, that was 50K years ago, things have changed and it's time to move on.
Every time he would communicate with my fellow squadmates he was always rude. He was justified in seeking vengeance against the reapers but he should've treated me and my fellow crewmates as comrades in arms, not as annoyance who got in his way.
Next time I'll let Cerberus dissect that schmuck.
You can't change someones culture and ideals in a heart beat. He came from an Empire that conquered, not make friends.
When you hear him talk about the history of the Prothean Empire, you understand his culture.
Like to add, look at Grunt, he cared nothing for friendship and happy fun time, he only wanted to be by people who could hold their own and prove their strength, I really see no difference in the two.

I thought Javik was interesting and even respected him. I like that he turned everything upside down - especially since everyone thought Protheans were all sweetness and light. It's intriguing that they could be so...Darwinian.
It would be boring if every race in ME universe were all peace and love
