There are moments in this game that genuinely got to me, and I am sure that there were other moments that were powerful for you.  What was the most moving or unforgettable moment for you in the campaign?

I thought it was a pretty powerful moment when Zathrian ended the curse.  I actually got a little misty the first run through.
Also, the crowning of a new dwarven king was done well, and as a fantasy fan it was very satisfying.

Well, most of the 'endings' for each of the 'army arcs' were quite memorable, except, IMHO, the one for the Circle.

I'd have to pick the ending: from the point the Archdemon dies up to the 'index card' bit (and some bits leading up to that: Redcliffe and the army marching on Denerim). It could have used more 'oomph', but it was pretty memorable.

Zathrian ending the curse was brilliantly executed..

The biggest shock for me was Duncans demise at Ostagar... THAT i wasn't expecting and it hit me like a boot to the face.

There's a few:

Ostagar's battle and Loghain's betrayal.

Zathrian ending the curse.

Alistair's speech at the end before assaulting darkspawn at Denerim, and before that, all the armies gathering together that you recruited during the treaties quest.

The sacrificial blow against the Archdemon, I had my character do that, and it is awesome in the fact that it was *my* character dealing the final blow, it was a moment of awesome.

The whole broodmother thing with Hespith and all. When I get scared in a game I usually do not forget about it. I still remember scares in games from when I was a kid, even though I do not remember much else from the games themselves.

For me it was during the opening cinematic.  After Duncan plunges sword into darkspawn he goes and kicks the other Darkspawn off the cliff.  That is about as "gangsta" as you can get in a fantasy rpg.

Game has made me cry so much.

Latest one as the Dalish elf surprised me when the camp was attacked and Tamlen returned. Every time I did that starting story I'd scoured the place looking for him. Broke my heart.

Zathrian ending the curse is probably my favorite moment. The dramatic music, the way the Lady looks and how to werewolves bid their farewells just makes it so beautiful.

I have to agree I was shocked when that happen and so early on.  I had gotten the impression he would be a mentor to my toon as i went on.

Also as i walked down the cave and heard the Brood mother's rhyme.

- Crowning of dwarven king with Caliden's crown

- Zathrien ending the curse

- The mage being tortured then turned into an abomination by "Uldred" and co.

- The lead-up to the broodmother encounter

- The proving impersonation by my female dwarf commoner - I always get a kick out of Bioware's arenas

- The camp in the Brecilian forest where everything was so inviting for a nap.

Ostagar betrayal is definitely one of those moments. I'll never forget the way Duncan looked at the tower before he died.

Riordan riding the archdemon was also memorable but in a different way.

If only I had a "I read your book!" war cry when I killed him in the assembly, later on.

I like the Ostagar fight scene with King Caelan and Duncan, and the betrayal by Logain first and foremost...next one I liked was when the killing blow to the Arch Demon was delivered and Ban Teagan saw it from the ground---even though it was a great victory u can read it in his face that he knew it came at a great price. Over-all, all the scenes were nicely done...the part when Hespith starts talking about day 1 up until she was actually confronted by the party still gives me the creeps...something about betrayal really gets to me I guess.

I gasped and then LOLed and then reset.

Alistair's response was great.  "Was it...ABSOLUTELY necessary...to kill a helpless old man?"

Given the gravity of the situation, I could have argued "yes" it was necessary. At one point Alistair even asked the Bro if the ashes would regenerate after people taking pinches all the time.

But people never learn. Once you reveal something beautiful to the world, it is exploited and destroyed.

I know.  I only knifed him after about three playthroughs of asking him to be cautious and hearing Alistair complain about the ashes being replenishing.  I thought I was making him happy.  Alas.  He was not happy.  I got a good laugh out of it though, before I went and reset.  "Check.  Alistair does not approve of throwing a dagger through the back of someone's head.  Unless it's a big sword and he's doing it."  So complicated.

The most memorable moments for me were the dwarven double crosses, first one in the noble origin and the one that came later in the casteless origin.

I really enjoyed the post-Flemeth conversation with Morrigan. Claudia Black really underplayed that one and it worked perfectly.

Also, Duncan owning Ser Jory with his little dagger, then very sincerely apologizing. Most badass Duncan moment IMO.

Human Noble betrayal events.

Siege of Ostagar, the beginning of the fight, especially when the rock flies up and hits a tower showing the PC and Alistair, tying the whole cutscene together quite neatly to what is going on.

After the aforementioned fight when Loghain pulls out. I still remember the first watch through. How many people went "That sneaky ****." with narrowed eyes.

The Witch's hut after the tower. Excellent voice-acting from Steve Valentine overall, but especially here.

I liked the cutscenes in Denerim while you are out and about, I kind of wish there was more of them. It showed a little inflection as to wtf Loghain was thinking without giving away too much.

Landsmeet

that epic speech before you retake Denerim

and oh, the ending.
