For me there are several but the speach given by Allister outside Denerim before you assault the city to kill the archdemon.

Allister says a bunch of stuff then says "if it was not for him/her we would not be here today"

I am sorry but that part just hit me funny, i keep waiting for some schmuck to yell from the crowd, "so this is your fault! get em!" lolz

Seriously the game has many moments that even a grinch like myself felt his heart thaw, i am on play through number 5 and still the game gets to me.

My funeral :)

Best origin story by far, the Human Noble

Biggest opportunity lost for a dramatic moment... when the PC is taken prisoner,

Drama lost, maybe. But a comedy gold mine. Don't believe me? Send Sten and Oghren in to try and convince the guards that they're Circus performers... Zev is gold for this act, too.

There are too many moments to really name, Dragon Age has one of those stories that I don't think I'll ever really forget and definitely the new example I will weigh all fantasy against in the future.

-Human Noble origin story

-Morrigan, and the doomed romance.

-The last few hours. Alistairs rousing speeches, Death of the Archdemon/Hero, and the Funeral felt like the most appropriate ending to a game I've ever played.

What stands out most to me about Dragon Age is that sense of unsurity, I really thought Leliana was going to betray you, that Morrigan was hiding something, that Sten was only a few wrong answers from trying to kill us all, That Zevran was just biding his time and waiting to strike. You were frequently manipulated outright by npcs both major and minor, and it seemed a lot of the time that the only people you could trust were the people you were useful to.

I'm glad to see so many moments listed here that impacted me. This game blew away all my expectations.

One of my favorite moments is the musical interlude that Leliana sings in camp at around the midpoint of the game. It's a beautiful peaceful moment in the middle of all the chaos.

One of my favorite moments was at tha Redcliffe Tavern, before the invasion I talked to Bella (being a guy) telling her "you can do better than this place" and so forth and somewhere the conversation led to me intending to give her some gold to get outta dodge, and she said "How can I ever repay you?" or something to that effect and I replied "A kiss from a beautiful girl will do." so she then shouts that she'd kiss every man in the village if we made it through the night.

Invasion happened, we won (of course!) and I went back to the tavern to give Bella tha goods and the gold. I just thought it was the funniest thing when she kissed me(or my warrior...hmm) and all tha militia dudes just stared slack-jawed like "holy crap, he's a lucky man" but then it cut to Oghren and all he said (and didn't need to say more) was one word sooo well said, "Hot."

Good times, damned dwarf, hehe.

So many great moments - loads of the ones that people have said, but the human noble origin, the betrayal at Ostagar, and most of all the ending of the werewolf curse stand out for me - that bit where Zathrien gives it up and the werewolves are tenderly touching the spirit as she dissolves just choked me up. Leilana singing her song in camp just after that put the icing on the cake. Every time I think of that whole bit, I get misty-eyed.

I also got a bit moved by Morrigan admitting to me being her first friend at the goodbye scene before the final battle. *sigh* she's so gorgeous :)

Hmm lots come to mind but I'll narrow it down.

The Human Noble origin, and cornering Howle in his dungeon.

The first "scripted" kills my character made against Ogres and Dragons. Really made me wish the screenshot button worked with the game paused. (or at all on my computer)

And Alistar vs Loghain at the landsmeet. "Forget Maric, this is for Duncan"

Flemmeth becoming a dragon.

Seriously. I walked in there ready to kill her thinking "oh it'll just be solo mage fight, pack some stuns and spread out to avoid the AoE. I'll be fine..."

I think that was the first time I actually panicked a bit. Her shapeshifting into a dragon was NOT what I expected to happen.

The part that pumped me up the most was directly after you take the Gate of Denerim and as you are walking towards the exit of the area all the soldiers are cheering you on and the Dragon Age Main theme is playing. Just sends chills down my spine, that's probably my favorite part.

While the Dalish Elf origin itself is really short, it still had one moment of awesome... the ending, as the Dalish lament for the lost plays while you walk out into your new life as a Grey Warden with your entire clan lined up in double rows for you to walk out between, as a gesture of honor.

"Come then. Before the Creators guide you from us, let your clan embrace you one last time."

The duel with Loghain... and killing him after... while wearing Katriel's grasp.

I can't put my fingers on it, but after reading both the novels, I really didn't care for him. Actually I *can* put my fingers on it. He didn't give Maric the whole story about Katriel when he discovered that she was a spy. That alone was enough to have me looking forward to an opportunity to at least punch him in the face. Add being a traitor into the mix and death seemed appropriate. As soon as a duel was announced, I started shaking with emotion from the point I chose "Alistar accepts. I will be his champion." until he was dead. Hell I was so into that moment that I would have chosen to kill Anora if that option had been given (and regreted it later I am sure)

Fantastic game.

For Ferelden! For the Grey Wardens! - Alistair. [Anora version was, well she gives the exact same speech and it just doesn't sound quite so good.]

Siege of Ostagar was pretty awesome, before the Tower and After when Cailan dies and you get turned into a pincushion by Darkspawn.

I don't think I was ever so creeped out by the idea of a boss before.  The broodmother is disgusting, no doubt, but the story of how she came to be is even worse.  IMO this is the best lead up to a boss fight so far...Hespith's (sp?) hints and ramblings just filled me with dread of what I may find.  Both Branka's betrayal and Hespith's complicity made the whole thing even darker.

I agree. Also, no one mentioned it yet, but hunting the demon in the Elf Alienage's orphanage with Sir Otto. The children's dialogue is great in that area, you can feel the fear in their voice.

Sandal: "Enchantment?"

Warden: "Sandal? There are Darkspawn corpses everywhere! What happened here?"

Sandal" "Enchantment!"

-----

And the epilogue for my first character, when it mentioned Oghren went off to wed and have a child, and when he held it he wept and named it after me. Brought tears to my eyes.

Yeah, the human noble beginning was so moving to me because your father really does sound like he's dying. You can feel the pain between he and his wife knowing that they'll be parted by death, and it's so touching how the wife won't leave her husband even to save her own life.

Answering the Guardian's questions. As a human noble on my first playthrough seeing my father again in the Temple, even though it really wasn't my father.

Zathrian ending the curse was also right up there for me. Very powerful, I teared up.

Broodmother lead-up gave me goosebumps and really creeped me out. Even though I saw the trailer it still gave me chills and when I put it all together I was sick, Branka needed to die. Period.

The Dalish origin ending as you're leaving your clan. Very saddening.

The ending : Morrigan's offer and betrayal, I was so mad! Alistair's speech, I was beyond proud. When everyone says goodbye before you head into Denerim. When I grabbed the sword and killed the Archdemon and the huge explosion, when the screen when black I was saying please let me live! I made a deal! When Bann Teagan looks up at the tower - the whole thing made my heart beat ten times faster.

There are so many memorable moments from big to small and it's amazing how they captured each of them and gave them just the right feeling.

I havent played through the whole game yet, and most of the quotes you all have stated I am sure I will see eventually and have my own words to speak upon them. But for me, so far, the two most memorable scenes were:

The dialogue between the PC, the boy and the Chanter in front of the Chantry board. The boy says all he ever doesand is allowed to do is chant, but apparently one can make him slip up and it was funny, to me at least... "What?" Posted Image

The other were the Highwaymen on the road to previously said village, the Highwayman leader and the brute of lesser intellect at his left was amazingly funny, even if one failed the persuasion check, both arcs were really fun. Well done Bioware. I hope to see more of such comedic fun along the way! Posted Image

I do have to say that I was saddened that Iona didnt get a bigger part... She might have been 'just' an Elven Lady-in-waiting, but she and her family had worked so hard, and for her station to be elevated, and her being a mother with having a husband that had fallen ill and died suddenly... for her to be killed so quickly was tragic to me. Honestly... I liked Loghain. Cailan came across as kind of an immature brat on my first play through, even if he was a really nice brat. I figure, ok, wise old tactician, young and ambitious king, I think I know who's going to screw this up. The writers really had me fooled. During the cutscene, my exact reaction was... "Wait, what? NO!"
