I have never had a more absurd situation with any video game I have ever played! I CANNOT play my own Mass Effect game that I purchased because it can only connect with the damnable EA servers one out of 10 times. When I boot up the game, 9 times out of 10, it says it cannot connect with the EA severs. I was foolish enough to purchase the DLC from Ashes the day I bought the game and so all my saved games have been saved after I installed the DLC. When the game cannot connect to the stupid EA servers it says it cannot authorize the DLC and will not let me load my saved game, ANY saved game. The upshot is that I CANNOT play the damn game because of the damned EA severs connection issues and the absurd requirement that you HAVE to log into them to play with the DLC. I need this b.s. resolved. It is crazy that I shelled out $73 for a game and cannot even play it due to the ea servers! I have tried disabling my firewall and resetting my router to no effect. Anyone else having this annoying problem and know how it might be solved? Thanks.

I don't know how it might be solved, though I don't have the specific problems you do. My problem is centered on multiplayer (I always disconnect after a wave or two), though I have no issues with any other online game.
The DLC re-authentication is definitely a real pain in the butt. I'm always online, but should my connection go down for "maintenance" at any point I won't be able to play the single-player portion at all (DLC re-authentication prevents loading saved games that had enabled DLC when in offline mode).
I'd kind of like them to get rid of that. One time authentication should be good enough. Pirates don't have to go through this, why do we? If the EA servers go down, guess we're just SOL.
95% of the game is absolutely fantastic; hope you can get this sorted.
I wish I could help. Free bump, anyway.

Same here. This is why EA was, is and will remain hated FOR ALL ETERNITY.
Seriously, can't the stupid thing tick something somewhere under seventeen layers of encryption that it has been honestly bought and SHUT UP about connecting to the EA servers? My internet connection is far from reliable and I really do not HAVE to have to go through this every time I have to play the game. It's not like I have all day to wait for the magical elves in EAland to decide they want to function properly once more.
Between work, personal life and public transportation I have less than an hour a day to play games on my PC. And of those I have just spent half an hour TRYING TO GET ME3 DLC TO WORK. Not because of my faulty Internet connection, either, BUT BECAUSE THE EA SERVERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I've already spent an extra five days of not playing, waiting for the Collector's Editions to get shipped to my country, I really don't want to wait any more. And I shouldn't have to, because I'm a paying customer.
BioWare, can't you do something about this? Like, patch the STUPID dependence on Origin out? Patch in some OTHER form of authentication? One that doesn't discriminate against people without a 24/7 Internet connection?

I am going to bump this because EA and Bioware need to address this issue, hopefully in an upcoming patch.
