For starters, I've got nothing against the Reaper enemy set. It's unique, its fun, and in general I like it. However, if there's one thing that just drives me nuts about it, it has to be the Banshee. No matter what combination of powers and weapons I try to bring, there doesn't seem to be any reliable way of doing significant damage to it.

Even once it's barrier is depeleted, heave anti armor weapons such as the claymore seem to have little effect compared to the devestating damage they can do to both the Atlas and Geth Prime.

So the question is, what's the trick to killing these things in a timely fassion?

Party focus fire. The Black Widow is pretty much the best choice for all hard targets if you have it.

Rockets are a good choice if it's not wave 10, where the stupid thing will just respawn immediately until the objective is completed.

Human Engineer + Infiltrator.

Engineer: Overload to remove barrier. Incinerate it to death.

Infiltrator: Cloaked headshots.

In other words, there's no good way to kill a banshee unless you want to use rockets. All the typical anti-armor weapons are the best ways, but they certainly aren't good.

Banshees are the #1 reason it seems like everyone is picking geth only maps, which is a shame because I'm tired of fighting geth, lol.

I just spam warp with my human sentinel and roll like a madman if it turns its attention towards me.

I'm going with the party focus fire option. If you have biotics, have them toss stasis or any kind of crowd control at the other incoming enemies. If there's a brute, just dance around him.

See a banshee, shoot a banshee.

Recently I noticed that warp (rank 5?) gives a +15% damage buff to weapons and powers on what it hits.

I've been using it on Banshees instead of Overload and combined with the bonus of Biotic explosions and what not I think Banshees become _much_ more manageable.

Focus fire, biotic/tech combos, and if it's in the later waves on Silver/Gold, then use missiles to clear some room. Given that both brutes and banshees tend to close ground quickly and clump together, AOE attacks like combos and missiles can quickly do tremendous amounts of damage. Also, never, ever engage in melee with a banshee. It just ends badly.

Edit: Also, decoys, turrets and drones can be used to completely confuse a Banshee, making it an easy target.

Step 1.  Always have a full stock of rockets for the entire team. Purchase recruit pack if necessary.
Step 2.  Fire your rocket at the Banshee when it stops warping and starts walking. You can easily miss the rocket shot even when the Banshee is just walking because its a very skinny target. So aim carefully. 1 shot kill.

Any other strategy you'd better be far away and shoot it with everything you've got.

Rockets are for noobs. You should save that for later waves or against groups of enemies surrounding and overwhelming your team while you're doing an "Upload" challenge.

Don't even have to hit the banshee with the rocket to kill it, aim for its feet and if you are within a 5-10 meter radius you will kill it, even if it teleports.
Personally I use cloak shoot repeat, knock off 4 bars with each shot, same for primes and Atlas, still learning how to snipe the phantoms effectively

Engineers spamming tech powers works at least on silver, biotic combos work as well as does sniping it with a widow while cloaked.

Krogan Sentinel:

Run up and heavy melee.
Back up and shotgun to the face.
Repeat.

Yeah you really wanna conserve Rockets for wave 10 and the extraction wave as it can turn into a real ****storm. Basically with Reapers, you really wanna have someone specc'd to maximize biotic explosions. So a Human Sentinel, Human Vanguard, or an Asari Adept are strongly recommended as not only will they make quicker work of Banshees, but they will help to quickly dispatch the numerous Rand Brutes. not to mention collateral riff raff.

Focusing gunfire works but it's easy to wipe as people stop watching their flanks if the DPS isn't high enough.

If you're using rockets you really need to maximize them (such as taking out multiple hard targets with the Banshee). I'd go as far as saying that a lone Banshee does not warrant a rocket unless the team is going to wipe or time is running out in a "kill target" objective because of the difficulty of the later waves.

I find my best classes for taking out Banshee are

1)Asari Adept: Warp+Throw bombs
2)Drell Adept: Reave+Cluster
3)Turian Sentinel: Overload Barrier, Spam Warp

This should be required reading for all MP players.

Human Engineer + someone with biotics can take one down fast and really fast if everyone focus fire on it. Overload to take down the shields fast and then a drone + incinerate while the biotic focuses on biotic explosions.

Black widow on an infiltrator doing headshots also works pretty well. Just a pain in the butt to get headshots when they're teleporting all over the place.

But by far adepts with warp/throw explosions on 2sec CD bring them down the fastest.

Honestly though, it's not the banshee's or brutes that really suck on reaper gold, it's ravagers 2 shotting you from across the map as the entire team is focus firing the banshee/brute.
