It always seems to go to the closest person, so sometimes if I happen to be playing my Krogan, I'll run up behind it, heavy melee, then back away while scimitar-spamming. It'll then start following me and I either kite it and keep shotgunning until it dies or until my team has the time to help.

After more experimenting today the one thing that seems to get me confused is how on ocasion I can detonate a warp explosion and have her armor not take a dent, and then at other times she'll drop a bar or two. Leaves me wondering if I'm missing something.

Drell Adept + Fully upgraded Reave.

Constant damage, and gives you some armor.

everyone on the team needs to focus on it, forget rockets, you can miss once they teleport, focus all your powers and stay with it while slowly retreating. and never let it touch you.

If there's someone who can set up and detonate biotic explosions on your team, the best plan is to let that person solo the Banshee while everyone just goes about their business. The only reason that wouldn't work is if that person goofs and ends up with an arm through their chest. It's even better if he can pull two Banshees! Less worry for the other members of the squad as they clear out the other enemies.

If you are worried about rockets, just aim at the ground!

The splash damage covers the distance they can biotic jump. Usually.

If you have an Asari Adept let them warp/throw it to death while the rest of the team keeps adds off the Adept/glass cannon.

detonate+expose+pierce warp. a good Turian Sentinel on a team can make them easier to deal with.

Party focus fire. The Black Widow is pretty much the best choice for all hard targets if you have it.

Rockets are a good choice if it's not wave 10, where the stupid thing will just respawn immediately until the objective is completed.

Geth shotgun would like to have a word with you.

Overload or Energy Drain for quickly taking down the barrier. Then things that take down armor are great. Biotic explosions, but also Incinerate (I always spec out the final evolution to do armor damage, but if you have a good team, the freeze+fire cross combo is deadly), Carnage (w/ the armor evolution). Debuffs like Cryoblast and Warp are great, and when used w/ a good team doing focus fire makes a Banshee a cinch. Multiple Banshees is a different matter... in that case, running isn't a bad idea. Banshees are a lot easier when you've taken care of everything else and you have some open space.

Drones (and I'd assume Decoys) work OK for distracting Banshees (once they're done warping).

Banshees are very, VERY dangerous, it's true. But I find the greatest danger from them is the fact that they draw so much player attention that they usually neglect the building mass of Cannibals on the party flank, or the 1 or 2 Brutes closing in on the group, or the Ravagers firing rockets from across the field. Too often I've seen people focus too much on the Banshee (I'm guilty of having done this too) and forget about the other husks.

As for the Banshee herself, Rockets if you need to take her down FAST (but watch out for her teleportation, because that can really mess up your shots if she's still at a distance), and party focus fire if you don't want to waste them. There's a certain sweet spot where you can keep backing away from the Banshee and filling her with lead where she won't respond with her ranged attack because she's trying to get close to use her Scream or insta-kill move, but it's quite hard to pull off. I ALMOST solo'ed a Banshee once with my Vanguard using this tactic, but I accidentally backed myself against a wall and she grabbed me. :(

The Banshee's freak me out, seriously, when I hear that scream and how they look all tall and gangly sends shivers down my spine thinking about them :(

Black widow on an infiltrator doing headshots also works pretty well. Just a pain in the butt to get headshots when they're teleporting all over the place.

But by far adepts with warp/throw explosions on 2sec CD bring them down the fastest.

Honestly though, it's not the banshee's or brutes that really suck on reaper gold, it's ravagers 2 shotting you from across the map as the entire team is focus firing the banshee/brute.

its weakness is the stomach not head.

Human Adept, making sure you are only packing light (like 1 Assault Rifle or 1 SMG), utilitzing a +150% Cooldown Bonus and then.. hitting the Banshee with a Warp every 2 seconds.. its melting their barrier and armor right off them.

Except for Geth, having a Human Adept in the group can really be a lifesaver, if they ain't bogged down by carrying weapons like a soldier.

A positive sideeffect of Warp is to allow your Teammates to do more damage as well. The Trick is really to have at least 150% Bonus to cooldown.

I've been taking down Banshees and Brutes with little difficulty on my own as Human Adept in the Multiplayer. (Of course you have to keep your distance)

The only ones i saw taking them down faster were Infiltrators using a black widow and Cloak.
