The Indoctrination theory. I would like to say that if this wasn't Bioware's plan all along then I strongly suggest that they hire that guy who came up with the theory to continue with the ending.
In essence its states that our beloved Commander Shepard is in fact indoctrinated, and when the final assualt on the beam was stopped by Harbinger, the event which happened on the crucible could actually be an hallucination. For me it does actually make sense.
I replayed the ending earlier and chose to destroy the Reapers, against the Childs warnings and even though it is portrayed as the renegade choice I went ahead. I was then greeted with the infamous ending where
the Reapers are destroyed. What made this theory ring true for me was the cut scene where we see a body sporting the N7 armour lying in the rubble and then moving before the scene cuts out. It hit me that it couldn't have been the
rubble of the citadel because the exact point where Shepard stood (connecting the Crucible and the Citadel) was completely annihilated. So going back to the indoctrination theory we see that glimpse of hope that Shepard is in fact lying in the rubble of the blast where he was stopped by Harbinger.
One can only hope that this is Bioware's master plan. Even if the ending was just a massive **** up then I think Bioware has just struck gold and found a very long ladder to get them out of the deep hole they dug.
Personally I would love to see a true ending where Garrus or Ashley pulls Shepard out of the rubble and the fight continues. As I can't seem to get my head around how my two companions managed to get back on
the Normandy and not be mentioned over the radio when the Alliance asked if anyone had made it through or if anyone was still alive.
Anyway has anyone heard anything from Bioware regarding the ending?
