I haven't promoted multiple characters, so I'm not sure if it keeps stacking 75 pts on each other (which is crazy), but beyond that what's your incentive to promote? To raise your meaningless e-peen num- err... I mean, N7 rank?

I think for every promotion you should get a free Spectre Pack unlock, or even a Veteran Pack. SOMETHING. The concept here being, you promote, but you start off at level 1 with all your old gear so you're not AS bad of a level 1 as you used to be. Wouldn't that be better reinforced by giving that person a GOLD rarity weapon/character? As it stands, I've promoted once, and I'll probably never do so again. Doesn't make sense.

i promoted my 20 sentinel because i thought i'd get something out of it. instead i got a meaningless +10 to my N7 rank which means absolutely nothing.

i completely regret promoting myself, cus now i gotta grind out a bunch of levels on my sentinel again to get back into silver/gold matches without dragging the team down.

I dont get the point of promoting either. Unless I can use the player in SP, I don't see me doing it again.

You get +75 readiness points or whatever.

I think if you promote you should be able to unlock/upgrade an item/class of your choice.

Hell, wouldn't it make sense to just upgrade your character's customization? You keep promoting him and then you keep getting to customize more and more? Heck, ANYTHING that actually offers ANY benefit in Multiplayer. Heaven forbid we doing anything beyond grinding credits.

Yeah adding a feature that improved rank would be nice. Or even 4 ability points per promotion up to four promotions or some ****.

Hey! Thats a good idea. Free spectre pack when you promote. Or say 100,000CR or something. I'm on board with this idea.

Maybe other option would be give u 1-2 skill points for every promote u made of this class, then you can have at end a class with all skills on rank 6 or give u x10 medigel, rockets or something like that

I would like to see the "choose a gold item" option. I promoted once and won't ever do it again. Its pointless when my SP campaign has no use for the extra war effort points, and doesn't confer any benefit in MP except a skill reset.

Wow, I guess the word 'balance' means nothing to most of you. Anyway, the Promotion feature is entirely optional. No one is forcing you do do it, plus it gives you the chance to reset your character for free (as opposed to having to use a respec pack). I don't see the problem with the current system. If you cannot get your character back to silver or gold levels then just don't do it. All the hand-holding these days with gamers is getting really annoying.

I would probably promote my characters if I got a free spectre pack or got to choose a gold card. As it stands right now I have no need to do it since having 100% GR is far more than I need for SP.

I would love it if they did that.

Nothing wrong with getting a free pack and/or some credits for promoting a character. Otherwise the feature is generally pointless.

Please explain how the promotion system is balanced, thanks.

I like the promotion system tbh. Its a cheap way to respec your char and I dont mind to play a few more matches on bronze.

I thought he was referring to the skill points suggestion.  That's what I was thinking of at least.

Reaching level 20 takes time. Getting +10 N7 levels doesn't really cut it. Hell, if I were to promote and start over from scratch, I had better get something nice out of it. I wouldn't mind getting 1 or more Spectre packs or the ability to select a weapon I already own and upgrade it by 2 levels (or 1 level if 2 is too much).

The alliance should forward you 80k credits for training special forces for front lines combat. 80,000 credits per promote would be enough to make me want to keep re leveling my characters, because i could get 1spec/1vet, or any other combo for unlocks. Either that or maybe they could let you pick 1 specific unlock that you cant seem to get through luck. Either way i would promote every time.

What?  There is no balance issue here.  That's not even what he was talking about.

Seriously though, don't promote if you don't want to.  Nobody is forcing you to do it.  And why would they give you more credits or items when it's so easy to get them anyway?  Nobody owes you anything and if promoting is such a chore then leave it alone.

I like the appearance idea. Promote and it unlocks another level of appearance customisation. Gives a less random method of making your char look how you want.

You get +75 War Assests for the single-player, +10 N7 rank for multiplayer, and get to reset the class without having to use a rare Respec Pack.  Futhermore, the promotion feature is entirely optional.  If you do not see the items listed previously as a benefit then do not use the promotion feature.  You should not be rewarded further for reaching level 20.

Besides, if you want a true incentive then take that level 20 and play on Gold difficulty; the credits are incredible.  You should not be rewarded for grinding a character to 20 on Bronze or Silver.

Are the war assets transferred to future single player games?

And I agree that there should be more incentive to promote. I've promoted 4 times for respeccing purposes. Once satisfied with a spec, there's no point in promoting anymore.

Think of it as a free respec card... it's not like it's hard to get experience, since you'll need to farm credits anyway.

Yes. Promoted characters provide +75 war assets per promotion to all saves, past, present and future.
