The 75 to war readiness seems pretty crappy as well. Think about it. If you just straight up played the SP, it's possible to get more than enough to get the best ending. Now, if you're playing enough multiplayer to get to level 20, you are pretty much guaranteed to get the best ending 100%. It's completely meaningless.

It would be great if the promotion gave better unlocks for the powers. So, you can go open the extra paths on the skill tree in SP, or get some additional coinage (especially since it's a limited resource).

So if I play MP before SP and promoted several classes I can't get a "worst ending"?

Will happily confirm you can pass 2k EMS from just N7 Special Ops promotions ;3 Getting a 'worst ending' is now almost (if not actually) impossible in any future SP plays.

As of right now there is no reason to promote. Unless you have somebody else to play this game with (Which none of my friends bought because it's on Origin) it's pretty much impossible to level up that newly promoted character because ignorant kids think Broze difficultly is hard.

Even if they gave a reward, I still don't think I'd waste my time. I tried searching for over 30 games and either got kicked or they wouldn't start because they were trying to kick me.

A few credits in return would be nice. Maybe 40k.

It would also be great to have your next character start as level 4 or 5 instead of 1 so you have a few more points to spread around.

Both of these would seem to fit smoothly into the current mechanics of the game. Some of the other suggestions like specific upgrades or customizations diverge from the current 'randomness' plan that bioware has implemented.

Reaching level 20 takes time. Getting +10 N7 levels doesn't really cut it. Hell, if I were to promote and start over from scratch, I had better get something nice out of it. I wouldn't mind getting 1 or more Spectre packs or the ability to select a weapon I already own and upgrade it by 2 levels (or 1 level if 2 is too much).

I have to say I agree. I've already got 6,000 points in single player, and 100% readiness. Why would I want or need to promote?

For me, it's the only option I have to try different builds. In all the spectre packs I've opened, only one respec card dropped. I'm above N7-300 and still have yet to try everything and I don't even have all the characters unlocked.

a whole pack is a bit much imo, perhaps show 5 random cards that you cant see what they contain, and let us flip a couple and we get what ever they are.

Yes. Promoted characters provide +75 war assets per promotion to all saves, past, present and future.

wait past saves?  how does that work... it goes back in time?

Open previous save, go to War Assets, scroll to Alliance, scroll to N7 squads, dahdah!

Yes. Your past self discovers these promotions, and thus does not promote them in his future, since he already got them, creating a time paradox that destroys the universe (no need of Reapers).

What he meant was that if you load an old save from before promoting the characters, the save is updated and you get them instantly.

I think Bioware missed a great opportunity to have them show up in the campaign. I'd love to set down on a planet and have the scout/liaison/whomever greets me be a promoted MP character, or just have "one of our special ops personnel covering your flank" or whatever.

Free Veteran Pack/promote

Which has potentially any item in it Also pretty much any class can go into gold at the lower levels with teamwork. I'm personally just fine doing silvers only, gold is too much hassle without a premade.

Wait, people actually promote their characters?

Yeah. I don't want to have to do side quests in any more SP runs.

I think I may promote my Asari vanguard as I feel my current build is subpar.

But I can't think of any other reason to go through with it.

Wow, I guess the word 'balance' means nothing to most of you. Anyway, the Promotion feature is entirely optional. No one is forcing you do do it, plus it gives you the chance to reset your character for free (as opposed to having to use a respec pack). I don't see the problem with the current system. If you cannot get your character back to silver or gold levels then just don't do it. All the hand-holding these days with gamers is getting really annoying.

How is asking for the feature to be improved a bad thing?

Personally I think extra customisable feature should have been unlocked via promoting rather than random luck, or at least be given a spectre pack or something.

Take CoD for example resetting rank gives you an extra custom class slot and other features.

How about raising the maximum level any time you promote a class?

I am Sanctusmorti, and this is my favorate thread on the Citadel.

I would really prefer a MP reward from a promote to a SP reward, you already get a major reward to SP by maintaining Galactic Readiness. (lets just face it, Galactic readiness is only in game as a mechanism to prevent preowned buyers easily getting a 'good' ending anyway).

Nothing too over powered, +1 to an owned weapon of choice would be great but a single extra pack would be acceptable compaired to the current nothing (as n7 level means roughtly jack...)

Also, we should get 20k credits each time we log in to the game. Let's go, Bioware, we need some incentive here. I mean, come on, we're entitled.

If you don't feel you have enough reason to use the "promote" option to reset your character, -don't-! It fulfills the purpose it has already, and doesn't need to give you anything else than it already does.

I'd even settle for a Veteran Pack per promote. Or the equivalent number of credits. Or a Spectre Pack after 3 promotes. A little something without upsetting the balance of MP too much.

I agree with We Tigers that it would have been really nice to see our promoted characters in the single player campaign. I had expected to at least just see my promoted Quarian standing in the back of the room, minding her own business, while Shepard delivers the speech... but nope. Nothing. Ah well. Heck, if that was a possibility, I wouldn't even want a free pack for my troubles since it'd be cool. But nope.

I think we should get a certain amount of credits when promoting.
