There are so many things that make sense in the context of the Indoctrination Theory that simply are let go or not even close to explained otherwise.

I took it as since the codex says that people that are being indoctrinated act as "beacons" to indoctrinate others, that when Shep goes to talk to Vega he says he hears humming because Shep is like a Beacon.

IIRC TIM says in ME2, that the Normandy was rebuilt using some Reaper tech. So it's safe to say that Indoctrination is 100% possible. I mean seriously, Bioware are the masters of messing with your head, so what if all of this was planned and what if the EC clarifies everything? What if final hours was also one big troll?

If so and Bioware was really holding off the ending so no one (pirates) spoiled it, then it would make them the greatest dev in the world.

Tali cannot sleep because it's so damn quiet in ME1, and she's used to the sound of ****ty ships. It ain't engine noise, folks. Plus, people on a ship would recognize engine noise, and wouldn't comment on it.

I agree, something is really off with Vega's statement, it's just the way he says it, could be indoctrination, my only concern is why James? why not someone else like Garrus, Cortez or Tali?

I heard Vega say it... I just didn't know what to think... couldn't find anythign more to it and I can't recall hearing it mentioned ever again.

Why Vega and not Garrus or Tali? That's simple, Garrus and Tali have the will of Commander Shepard. They aren't easily indoctrinated. Vega doesn't seem to have the same will as the Commander.

This still? The hum is the drive core. Its loud as hell in the shuttle bay and the crew quarters and down right deafening in engineering. If you guys go back to ME1 and 2 we hear the same hum.

All the it suggests is Vega has not served on ships with drive cores three sizes to big before.

 ok so being that i did not play the first one YET, i was trying to figure this out without spoiling it for me, while many say thats just engine noise i can tell you that its not. im using my ps3 headset with surround sound you can hear the differance in the sound, went around the whole ship and you could only hear it real good down in  the cargo area even the engine sounds differant, the sound seems more reaper like like i said i spent maybe 30 minutes going around the whole ship hearing all differant sound and its not THE ENGINE... even though i have not beaten the game it makes me wonder what if...i have more questions than answers after running into this issue which i think is all part of bioware plan...so if  only vega hears it and so can shepard what does it mean. i know shepards history and would not be surprised by him being indoctrinated but james? so for those who say its just the ship im hear to tell you its not, grab some headset and go see...but really what does it mean afterall...


ps: regardless of the ending of this game i love ME universe...:happy:

If IT turned out to be true (and properly implemented) I do think it'd be cool if it was revealed that they tried to Indoctrinate you using a SAW-esque like recap of events that happened during the course of the game to which you realise the truth. A flashback to James saying this line would fit right in there.

From my understanding it's ONLY full indoctrantion that can be deteced from what I gather,

He detected Kai Leng. Kai Leng still was in "I'm not indoctrinated, I'm fighting for humanity" phase.

Well, given the "lots of speculation from everyone" ending decision, it's a bit hard to say it is or isn't more than it's made out to be. Hence the problem with speculation from everyone. There's no clear answer to any of the questions...only speculation. So I could say pink bunny rabbits flew in on the death star and took out the reaper armada, and sadly, I could be right.

ok so does that mean that james is near something...or that shepard is some type of mediam of some sort and there for james can hear the sound...

The corruption in this god awful game goes much deeper than the endings.

Meaning that those calling for a James Vega romance want to have romantic ties with a gigantic xenocidal machine which is essentially a nation within a body.
