What rule system is being used? (Back to top)
The Dragon Age team has created a custom Role Playing Game rule system for use in Dragon Age.
My questions:
Will this custom rule system be close to AD&D? Will there be "dice" and concepts like "1D8" for damage?
During character creation I saw the tool tips, e.g. "as a rogue you want high DEX" etc.
So I figure, I can trust my knowledge about basic AD&D stuff, which I acquired during the last 15 years.
Further I wonder if DA handles stats like AD&D.
Example: STR 15 changes almost nothing compared to 14, but STR 16 yields a higher bonus.
Perhaps someone here has more insight?

It will use random numbers. It is not AD&D.
Modifier is (stat - 10). Not (stat - 10)/2. As an example.

Well you can download the manual for the game somewhere on this forum if your search for it. Though it doesn't contain any information about the particular questions that you asked.
I'm pretty sure it is similar to dice though.

I was wondering if anyone knows a manual or webpage, about the DAO ruleset. The game manual is not detailed enough, and I'd like to know more about the game mechanism and rules.
