This is NOT a troll post. I love Dragon Age. I took my time, I did the entire campaign. I talked to every person, went in every room, and explored as much as I could. I did almost every sidequest I could find with a couple exceptions just because they weren't interesting to me. When it was all said and done however I got just under 40 hours out of my experience. Which is fantastic in my opinion. Especially since I got around 25 from Mass Effect, and DA was almost double that time.

My question is what did I miss? Dragon Age is such a great game, and I want more. I'm not saying its short because it isn't in any way. I just want to get 100 hours like everyone else. For those that are getting everything you can get out of DA, what is it you're doing? Is there just a MASSIVE amount of side quests I'm missing or what?

I did a lot and had around 70 hours. The 100 hour numbers probably assume all sidequests and possibly some multiple playthroughs make different story choices.

In my first playthough i got 89 hours or so. Very reasonable. I don't know how people are getting under 45 hours. It boggles my god damn mind!

My total was around 40-45 hours as well and I've done almost everything including both DLC's. But in those 40 hours I reached level 24 without cheating so I really doubt I miss MASSIVE amount of side quests. Perhaps you reloaded and replayed a lot, I don't think that counts toward overall play time.

I tend to read all the codex entries and listen to dialogue so that adds to my time. Difficulty level and how you play also can add some time. If you just solo pull stuff it can take a while to clear out dungeons.

Really? I've completed the game with one character, played up to the landsmeet with two, and now even though I pretty much roll through the game with my third, a warrior (not reading codex or anything), I've soon passed 40 hours and I'm not done yet. You got rocket boots or something?

My first playthrou i used 64 hours to complete game with only 86% of game explored.

My secound playthrou i used 37 hours to complete game with 98% of game explored.

So no there really is not 100 hours of gameplay in this game , only if you play it multiply times adn add the time spend together

Well, my game play was closer to 100 hours but that includes a fair amount of inefficient time usage.

The last time I checked was when I was a good 2/3 through the game, and it was in the low 60's. So I assume that by end game it was in atleast the 70's or 80's.

EDIT: I misunderstood. That percent is NOT completion percentage, it's world explored. My mistake. I've not found a completion percentage in the game.

My first playthrough was on casual setting on the 360, with no downloadable content. Average about 30 hours.

Second time through, went a little mroe in depth as I wasn't racing to the end to find out what happened, but still on casual, maybe 40 hours.

It takes a lot longer on the PC version with downloadable content even on easy. A full PC runtrhrough takes me maybe 60 hours.

But the replay value is high, I'm on about my fifth full runthrough with three or four false starts.

But, would you say that there are lots of side quest or no? If so, do you think that there is actually more hours of side quests then there are in the main quest, because that seems like the only logical possibility as I have finished the main quest and I'm at 40, so to get around 100 like most of you there would need to be lots of side quests which I've not found yet.

Right. Well thanks for responses anyway. I'm going to go play Dragon Age now. Heres to finding more things to do, which I have apparently missed. Thanks again.

I just went over 100 hrs and I didn't even do the Landsmeet yet...

I play on hard which makes the fights take up some time. I speak to all possible NPC's, do all side quests I come across and read every codex entry.

Playing on Hard, doing all the sidequests and never skipping any dialogue that I heard fofr the first time, and also reading all the codex entries I got, my first playthrough clocked in at 107 hours.

If you're doing it faster, you either play at a lower difficulty setting and/or you're skipping dialogue. Did you also do the codex quests?

yeah doing every thing I could I clocked in at 45 hours my first run the only thing I didn't do was read all the codex entries, though I suppose that could add a lot of time.

My first playthrough was around 47 hours. I didn't do most of the side quests.

My second playthrough was around 50+, did most of the sidequests.

I find it hard to believe that we can reach 100 hours in one playthrough. Sounds too much to me.

But playing only 2 playthroughs will get you to at least 80 hours. If one whishes to play all 3 classes, then one could reach 120+ hours. Add in the 6 different origins, specialisation combinations, and different fighting / spell style, and Dragon Age might even reach 200 hours. I am planing to try everything in the game, though I do not think I will do it all at once. Wait for a month or two, then play a new one.

I had somewhere around 70 hours with 65% completion, but 100% exploration. There are several endings to both the main plot and army-building quests that I haven't pursued yet.

Probably the only way I'd get 100 hours is if I stayed in walk mode the entire time. There just isn't enough map to rack it up while running, unless you deliberately waste time or park the character unpaused while leaving the computer.

There's lots of side quests.  I've tried to do as many as I can, but I still haven't gotten the "Complete 75% of side quests" achievement.

I'm going to have to make another rogue and stock up on Slim's quests and the Crow quests, which I haven't done yet.

You can do both of those quest lines without being a rogue.

89 hours, 50% completed (first runthrough), 100% world explored, got the 75% sidequest achievement, normal difficulty. Lots of single pulls (both fighting and sex). Lots of exploring dialogue options. Also ran around the place a lot. Lots of time in camp talking to all the companions to see if they had anything new to tell me.

4 minute musical number. Reloaded x 7. Nekkid is funniest.

Once I found out what a companion likes, I ran around to all the shops (ALL THE SHOPS) and bought them gifts.

Do you *know* how much stuff Dog can find? And pee on?

Then there's the party banter spots. Ran through those over and over with different conbos of companions.

I averaged about 50 hours each on my two playthroughs, with full completion. I thought I had missed something too, but it seems like that's about what other people are getting too. It seems like longer while you're playing it! I love this game...

Takes me about 20 hrs with cheats and only doing the Main, Companion and DLC missions. Note I also rush through all the dialogue I've read through already. Paragon of a Kind mission feels like the longest of them all. If I used runscript killallhostiles command I could probably crunch it down by several hours.

I've noticed a few bugs along the way but nothing game breaking.

I can't imagine how long it would take if I didn't cheat. *head explodes*
